I use a similar “Long,short-short, long” pattern
3 players, 1 at one end, 2 opposite end. First of the two has a ball.
They play LONG to the opposite player and follows to play a quick one two.
The end receiver now plays LONG to the now opposite end receiver and follows to repeat the pattern.
Start of with two touch option progressing to one touch only.
