  1. 3-5-2 is cousin to  the 5-3-2. 5-3-2 was used by Mexico..and the way PIOJO herrera uses it with Layun and Guardado… pretty much makes it a 3-5-2.   Mexico had tremendous success with that formation. If Carlos vela would of been the 10 and Giovani moved into that CAM position.  Mexico could have perhaps been in the Final against Germany.

The concaf was having a lot of success by playing their own styles which bennefited them against mainstream european formations.

  2. 3-5-2 is still really good. it works really good against  tiki taka offeneses and has more control over the field and allows for a verstatile and deadly attack.  WHich is why you saw NETHERLANDS punish SPAIN. because Netherlands has an amazing attack and 3 interiors and 2 flanks that allowed RVP and Robin to make a mokery out of a  famed Modern European style formation.

  3. this is a very educational video. have read and watched about formations for a long time and there are still a new fact to learn (like the difference in numbering between the continents)

  4. Woo Inverting the Pyramid. Great book, I was completely lost while reading so much of the book but definitely expanded my understanding of the game.
