Carpenter is such an awesome defender 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺. Her fast runs up the right-hand side are so awesome. When she came up for that first goal and flew up the pitch – you knew it would set up a goal. Great game
So Horan reacted to being fouled herself and she's the one sent off.
In a way it's reassuring to see female referees being as useless as male ones.

Watched it at the stadium, re-watching it now with commentary (The English commentary for Brann the last 3 games have been great), and I got to say I'm super proud of Brann. They fought so hard, and played so well even after going down 2-0.
Re-watching it with a better vantage point confirmed what I believed while watching live, that even before the red card, Brann didn't look like a worse team. Lyon was more efficient, getting two goals a bit to easily, but in the overall play, team vs team Brann held their own, and were at at times better (first 5 minutes and the end of second half)
And after the red card Lyon never really felt scary. Parking the bus and wasting as much time as possible, surprised it was only 4 minutes added time, I felt like their goalie wasted that much by her self.
And shoutout to Gaupset for my favorite goal of the year. It wasn't the prettiest goal, but it didn't have to be. And the celebration with the fans was so lovely.
Looking forward to see how far Brann can take it!

The sending off was 100% Horan's fault. No matter how great the provocation, the rules say, "No Retaliation" Lyndsay gave way to that and was rightly penalised. As a result of which she probably cost Lyon a win.
