  1. Young coaches is finding it difficult to differentiate between a commercial club like Real madrid and a team like bayern Leverkusen, Same thing happened to Erik ten hag, Thiago motta, Frank Lampard e.t.c. I think Kompany understood that very well..

  2. And Henry has said that a couple years ago, he actually said that to manage this young players was the most difficult thing in his coaching career, this young players are too soft emotionally and you have to be careful the way you talk to them compared to 90’s, and early 2000!!!

  3. The problem is, at RM, Florentino Perez is the real manager. He just wants a puppet. They have not had a real number 9, they don't have an organiser (Kroos like) midfielder, they also don't have a real RW who can take on players. They also have perpetually injured defenders. Also, they have Vini a man child, pompous brat of a pro player. Regardless on which side of the pitch you are supporting, you will hate him. So, how can any manager be successful when they have to fight Perez and management and Vini first?

  4. I live in Spain and the problem is how the whole country spoils them kids (LaLiga, journalism, federation…) tell them day after day they are just the best in the world in every single position which I certainly doubt from players like Huijsen,Camavinga, Tchouameni etc. they will tell to players like Arda Güler or Mastantuono they are better than Pedri or Yamal, to Bellingham or Vini they have no even close competition in world football, when they actually perform worse than many others in the premiere league. They’ve defended for such long time Vini’s horrifying behavior blaming other players or referees on the pitch to justify him. In Spain they are just untouchable and "YOU-KNOW-WHO” takes care of that. So, what can you expect now from them?

All great teams have great players and all should listen to the coach. If not, you are just missing the opportunity to become even better.

I would agree to say that Mourinho, Zidane, Pep or Luis Enrique’s teams in Barça orMadrid had the best players in the world, but not anymore. They have some of the best in their teams, but also Man.City, Arsenal, Liverpool, PSG… are on the same (if not better) level. All these teams have a great coach that is respected by their players. NOT IN MADRID, and will be tough to get all them young players that feel superstars back on track.

  5. Ultimately, I think you pull the star player to the side and have a private conversation with them. Depending on how that player receives the coach with genuine respect or lack thereof is how you pick out your team. Also consider whether the player has a reputation for being late or their ego causing issues, if they have a great reputation it’s important to look at yourself as a coach and critically reflect as to what can be done more differently. Assuming that the player was late but there still needs to be some disciplinary action why not just feature the player off the bench? It’d get the message across while not being too aggressive or hostile.

  6. I can’t be more disagree with Henry. Last year we lost terribly six games (16 goals against Barcelona) because managing wasn’t enough. Real Madrid players seem to not have any level of proud, because club gives them an element in order to changé that path and they prefer the formula of “being able to arrive late”, or not pressing the opponent. Meanwhile, PSG, Arsenal, Bayern and our worst home opponent behave as the way Xabi would work with…

  7. My my first of all flowers to my arsenal goat for the knowledge as always but my take on it is it's a very very interesting piece that all of us who follow football never really spotlighted till now probably Ancelotti gave it the spotlight a little bit when everyone was tryna figure out the key to his successes in his career but especially now that xabi is failing despite success from Leverkusen AND being a former player who's the RM coach coaching some of his former teammates aswell as players who know doubt will have known who exactly Xabi Alonso is in terms of his legendary status at real Madrid and in football in general you'd think these RM players would open their stubborn minds up and actually allow themselves to be coachable and mind you Perez's quote of Madrid is 90% players and 10% coaches has to be put into context it was 10 years ago 2015 to be exact. They had a standard setter and a lead by example player in Ronaldo who for all his greatness on the pitch and managers letting him essentially perform how he wanted on the pitch he carried the discipline with his regime and professional etiquette to warrant being given that leeway mind you the kind of discipline coaches often like to enforce in their club's. Now add to that a leader and no nonsense professional like Sergio Ramos which in turn would then make the other players around them like kroos modric, benzema and Marcelo also follow suit seeing the rewards it's bringing the team and the awards Ronaldo is getting then you end up with a club of players who exude the most discipline off the pitch with the one unified goal of being successful on the pitch then why wouldn't you let the club be 90% players and 10% coach 👍. HOWEVER…The only big problem now that Perez and the RM board are failing to realise is the recent success of late with that 90% players management style only worked as you still had a couple of players left from that 10 yr old quote era like benzema kroos modric Marcelo carvajal. Fast forward to now and what do you have….Marcelo left…benzema left…kroos retired…modric left carvajal is a passenger basically with all the times he's out injured and you've got no players in the team NOW who you could argue warrant that kind of management style and I'm basing this off of the professional discipline and etiquette that deserves you being given that kind of luxury and I say luxury because if we are to be real with ourselves now that kind of management style is a LUXURY that I feel you shouldn't just be given because you're a RM player and you've won a trophy or 2 – look how RM players who've won a trophy or 2 are treated by their own fans and media for that matter when they are doing bad 😒. All the players RM have now for all their la liga and champions league trophy CV don't carry the professionalism to warrant that 90% quote from Perez. You got babies (Sorry for the copyright Mr Roy Keane) like Vini Jr…you got entitled players after just one season like Bellingham (who I respect for his PR skills and maturity regarding public speaking), and you got other players like rodrygo and valverde who like I said before don't have the kind of professionalism and discipline to warrant being given that luxury the only players who I would say deserve that luxury now is carvajal and that's because he's now the ONLY one left from that 10 yr old quote era but even then he's always injured now and even if he was fit one man can't make all those players fall in line to warrant that level of luxury and if you are struggling to understand my point it wouldn't have been a bad thing if Perez allowed Sergio Ramos to come back to real Madrid when he asked to because that's the kind of discipline the club needs and I give you another example if you still don't get it it's the exact same reason why you find in comments sometimes fans saying someone like a Roy Keane or Alex Ferguson is what man united needs to give those players a kick up the backside as the standards have totally dropped. These RM players aren't showing the standard or discipline required for me to be given that luxury of 90% players and 10% coach. Feel free to constructively argue me on my take in the replies as long as it's respectful and at least got some sense to it 👍

  8. Madrid used to have the best players in the world, and they could afford to give them Additional tactical freedom and watch them succeed. This current team has 5 – 6 world class players, and the rest are not good enough to be there. . . So that same style won't work when you don't have the quality on the pitch. They better start listening to the coaching!

  9. Ancelotti is one of the greatest tactician to ever manage & his reputation as a man-manager is beyond comical. Look at the variation of futbol he's played. He's probably the only coach to ever get the better of Klopp in terms of killing tempo. Xabi needs to stop with his rotations and find a simple clear message like Flick. The only difference is Flick worked on the physical elements first and then the tactical approach. Madrid are always better with a big name fitness coach.

  10. No idea why he need to be sack. Real Madrid management too demanding. Ranking number 2 in Spanish League. Still can qualify next round in the champions league. What's wrong with Real Madrid management team

  11. Rivalry?? Real won it 16 times. City won it once 😂 where is the Rivalry?? Please explain? Just because they have been paired against each other a few times dont make them rivals 😂😂 city, not rivals, to anyone in the cl 😂😂😂😂 poor punditry.

  12. What a bunch of BS.
    This is players (divas) fault.

Look at Galacticos era, the same is happening now.

Florentino OUT, Vini OUT, Rodrygo OUT and bring some TEAM players that are willing to sacrifice for their team mates, and then we would have a proper TEAM.

It is not Xabi's fault to want a TEAM from these bunch of lazy brats.

  13. Bcos fans have to know the right opinion that’s why I’m making this comment
Rudiger coming back into the squad forget about the penalty is a mistake bcos he doesn’t respect the coach and the history of the club in the way he plays opposite the tactics and starts trouble in the matches but not sure if the attitude continues into the locker room or social media and I believe he should be gone for a better replacement next season
Asencio is very worried playing for Madrid and should be dropped he’ll continue giving problems
Kylian mbappe was actually injured but shouldn’t have been on the bench bcos it affects the play on the pitch making players from both teams feel he’ll be sub on
Carreras has joined the drama and is abusing his attitude
Rodrygo doesn’t know where his role is
Endrik is doing too much on the bench being left out
Tchoumani is playing one touch too many times for a holding player and lacks that split second hold and control running the game
Ceballos is too old fashioned in the tiki taka model without midfield presence with no advance pass
Coutouis should be captain but he’s also falling into drama and talks which have affected his performance
Arda guler besides the assist is not calm enough for a creative player to see the game
Vini is clearly looking to have followers for a divide from the coach
No press no pass no possession no willingness to create play

  14. The question of "what's th difference between a Coach and a manager?" Is very interesting 😮

But if I have to guess, will I be correct in saying that Peo Guardiola was more of a coach than manager whereas Jose Mourinho was more of a Manager than a Coach? Also… The older and more experienced you get, the less coach and more Manager you become?
