Typical MLS media. Letβs talk about Red Bulls and give them the βpoor youβ treatment while completely ignoring NYCFC, the only New York team with a championship (and the only one that plays in NY proper) during derby week.
You probably won't read this, but I wonder about this idea, and I think you should talk about it. The US Open Cup is a joke. It's mostly there to see if the lower tier (semi-pro and below) teams can somehow make a run. But the only reason it's really watched, or even aired, is to see another round of MLS, or if a USL Championship team can beat an MLS team (which is why I watch it, I love Cupsets). They don't even air the earlier rounds of the the tournament. So why not just have: one cup for the two top-tier professional leagues, USLC and MLS, in which all of the teams play, and another one for the third tier pro and semi-pro and lower leagues with a cup award at the end of it. At least those lower tier teams would get some silverware for winning a final, rather than just petering out when the MLS clubs enter. If you saw the last LAFC vs. Monterrey Bay game, LAFC played their players from their MLS Pro team and, on the one hand, played ok, but also, just squeaked by. So they got the win. But then what happens — LAFC brings in their first line for the next game against another MLS team? That's just an MLS game. It's just not fair, and no fun. Granted, Monterrey are a professional team from USL, and LAFC might play their bench for it — but not their MLS Pro Squad! I'd rather see the MLS Pro team play in the lower tier US Open Cup and let the first tier LAFC (no MLS Pro players, just maybe not starters or whoever) battle against Monterrey. As it is, Monterrey just goes all out, LAFC just sends in their kids, knowing that if they advance, they have a squad several degrees better. US Open Cup is just a joke now. Yes, a Cup with just the lower-tiers would not have much airtime, but they didn't back in the day when it was all amateur and semi-pro (with the internet, this would be different), and they don't get much airtime now outside of Bleacher Report and YouTube. Let's give the lower tier teams chances for some real glory, and give the fans of MLS and USL (yes, I'm a big fan) a real competition that might really be watched — a tournament that starts with the teams from both leagues from the start — kind of what their doing with the Concacaf Leagues Cup between MLS and Liga MX.
These guys absolutely REFUSE to talk about Charlotte FC for more than 15 seconds. I get that we are super mediocre but yall talk LA Galaxy for hours and even had a whole episode dedicated to Colorado. Even when you go to talk about our game you only talk about NYCFC being injured and then your like oh yeah Enzo Copetti scored twice that was cool anyway lets talk about literally any other team.
Gass always reminded me of grade school cafeteria salisbury steak.
Go fire
Weirdass hair and stubble, Wiebe
NYRB fans don't understand that whoever is the coach , they will still be obligated to play an awful style and play it with a U23 squad because Redbull
Redbull is the main problem not the coach
13:50 π«Άπ*point to the name*…no notes from us π
the sounders had to loose for the kraken to win 7-2 against dallas
Vanney should be sacked
Also, sounders was not the first to win the Concacaf cup. Lets make sure to add facts as well. Sounders happened to win the cup with its NEW name. This cup has been rebranded like 3 times in the last 61 years. Same cup new format. So sounders was #3 to win a concacaf cup for the MLS. DC united first and LAG second. There has been MLS Champs before with this cup. We know you HATE the Galaxy because of all the success we had in the past, doesn't mean you get to throw dirt or disrespect the club that MADE this league that way. Thank you kindly.
RE-VO-LU-TION πππππ
When am I going to learn that you guys judge a team's importance based entirely on the size of the city they represent? Why do I keep wasting hours hoping you will change? No idea.
Red Bulls used to "put money in goals" with players like Henry, which "coincidentally" was there when BWP went off. with all his goals. Which also was "coincidentally" when RBA was full and played somewhat attractive football. The problem is this "philosophy" has never felt more disconnected. Maybe it is because the priority is selling a crap energy drink not making an entertaining, competitive soccer club.
We DID not abuse Cabral, we gave him an opportunity for 2 season and he did not deliver. He barely scored and he was signed as a DP. SO YES WE WERE PISSED and 6 million. Abused? gtfo.
How long will MN, KC, and Galaxy have their managers?
Not sure of the point in MLS. No relegation, no promotion, no consequence of playing bad, nothing to play for, artifical manufactured nonesense that will never reach the levels
of Europe.
