  1. After winning back to back European Cups, Benfica's Hungarian manager Bela Guttman approached the Benfica board of directors and asked for a modest pay rise. However, despite the success he had brought the club, he was turned down. On leaving Benfica, he allegedly cursed the club declaring, "Not in a hundred years from now will Benfica ever be European champions again". Benfica have gone on to lose eight European finals (1963, 1965, 1968, 1983, 1988, 1990, 2013, and 2014). Before the 1990 final, played in Vienna (The city where Guttmann was buried), Eusébio prayed at his grave and asked – to no avail – for the curse to be broken.

  2. 1988 was exeptional for Ducth, when National Team got the title Euro cup and and Club/PSV got Champions title. Until now, there's no club and national team, got that both title in the same year (even with world cup)
