I just went to that match and the atmosphere was insane!
Probably just early days into the season. However the LOI in my opinion is getting watered down in quality every year. The level of tactically astute managers is also draining to watch. Same crap week in week out. Look at Sligo tonight, in game management was at a very low quality, Russell always sets up to not lose. Substitutes were “like for like” to be successful you have to be on the edge! “Who dares wins” every single corner was an inswinger with exactly the same attacking set up.,,Not a single change throughout, how robotic/predictable is that. It’s boring, absolutely boring to watch. It’s just a lack of tactical depth. The boy O’Kane had a free kick late in the game from 50 yards out and what’s he try and do….winding up “like Ronaldo to Shoot absolutely ridiculous WTF. In fairness the lad can’t even reach the goal from the 18 yard box let alone 50 yards, also I have to say his end product is atrocious, I struggle to see what Russell see in him to warrant starting every game.
Good point on the road for Sligo, I fancy em for a European spot this season.
Awful response by the Waterford players at the end, either they need to be sold or the manager needs to be sacked, that is is they want to avoid relegation, pwecious widdle boys.
What the hell! That was the worse game of football I’ve witnessed in ages. What was Gareth McElroy doing giving away a pen…young Daire Patton going on and taken off…His confidence will be shattered. How did Mai Toaroe stay on the pitch with that performance…Shocking. Will Fitzgerald, and O’Kane have zero end product. Where are the goals coming from. Shocking penalty from Armond. Two bad teams that will struggle.
