He literally carried Salernitana last year and saved them from relegation.

That own goal just showed how (for like most of the season), the idea that Ochoa is the reason Salernitana is bad and keep getting scored on is a misleading narrative. While Ochoa has had a lot of goals conceded this season, he also has 70 saves this year, which is impressive given that Salernitana’s defense is ranked the worst in Serie A and they should be getting scored on a hell of a lot more.
It’s not a goalkeeper issue, it’s the entire defense; center backs and wingbacks. And what makes it worse is that during the summer offseason and winter transfer windows Salernitana made the awful decision of not signing a single defender.
Salernitana needs to fix their defense and get new and better defenders, or they could be staring relegation to Serie C in the face.
