  1. Neymar being a choker doesn't seem accurate to me because under pressure he has won games like the biggest comeback in UCL history BAR vs PSG and hasn't missed any attempts. While CR7 just fails and dissapoints to even draw when underpressure, sure he could be a clutch because of high amounts of penalty favors but not beacause of freekicks or plays. So those are 2 different perspectives.

  2. Lalas has to be one of the most honest and respectable reporter in the soccer world. He should be an advisor for the USMNT they’d probably up their game levels, finally.

  3. Isn't there another rule change about if a ball rebounds off the goal keeper or post after a penalty kick, the ball is dead and is restarted. No more follow up scores. I thought I read that.

  4. Players should not be booked when they take off their shirts to celebrate a goal. Only a tiny amount of people become pros. An even smaller amount of people become goalscorers and an even smaller amount of people can do it at the highest level. Let them take off their shirt to celebrate like who cares.

  5. Make EXTRA TIME 5V5 so Teams won't want to go to penalty shootout "LIKE SWEDEN"

    Have the 3 cards

    OFFSIDES should b less strict

    ALL HANDS ARE PENALTY

AND LAST, YOU CANT PASS BACK TO THE GOALKEEPER

  6. I agree with the change to the throw-in, it is an annoying limitation that's never enforced. However, it should come with enforcing the point of throw-in. I can't remember the last time I saw someone not move 5-10 yards forward of where the ball went out.

  7. The three card system is a thing of the past. Brutes and leg hackers got off too often. Three cards no thank you. Through the ball in any way you like…. since officiating does not enforce the actual rule… take it any way you like, but have a 5 seconds to put it into play and off sides rules do apply.

  8. If you want more goals, you will basketballify soccer, cheapening the value of goals and whether you've thought about it or not, you will rob the game and fans of the extreme tension/release that comes from the scoring of a goal in the current game. Some of the most edge-of-the-seat games I have ever watched (or played in) were 0 – 0 draws, or drawn until the last second. It is the rarity and difficulty of goal scoring in soccer that makes it the most popular sport in the world. If you think otherwise, imaging its popularity without goalkeepers at all, and with no restrictions on using hands. Meh. It is not the scoring that makes soccer popular. It is the difficulty of scoring that does that.

And a throw in has one purpose: to put the ball back into play as close to where it exits the field as possible. Creating a game full of semi-corner kicks every time the ball leaves the field would be a spectacular cheapening of the beauty and simplicity of the game. Alexi thinks that more goals and more wild specialized spectacle will bring more American appetite for soccer. Maybe, but only in the way that the old MLS dribbling one-on-one shootout did. Pathetic.

  9. The penalty spot needs to be moved back. Make scoring a penalty kick more difficult for the attacker. with a conversion rate of over 80% in the pros, penalty kicks are almost always just considered a gimme. A penalty kick from 16 or 18 yards would be much more interesting than a spot-kick from 12 yards that can just be pounded into the goal. The goalkeeper would have a chance and wouldn't have to guess quite as much.

  10. Handball rule should go back to intentional vs. unintentional (hand plays ball vs. ball plays hand), so it should actually be the other way around meaning that there's no handball foul if the touch was unintentional or purely incidental.

If an offender shoots a ball and it ricochets off a defender's hand/arm into the goal, that should remain a goal and not be called back for a penalty.

The PURPOSE of the initial rule was to prevent intentional, not accidental, contact, and stopping the game every time a fingernail grazes the ball just sounds stupid.

  11. i cant believe what im hearing from these two about hand balls. now i need to question their soccer analysis all together and whether or not i should unsub. i knew lalas was an idiot, but mosses polo wearing elitist passion fooled me into thinking he was smart. its up to the referee's disgression. period. now with VAR it makes it easier for the ref to decide. if u have no life and want to talk nonsense in highlight video comment sections after the game thats ur numbskull choice to waste ur fleeting time. other fans salty tears should not affect long standing rules of the game which will drastically change the way the beautiful game operates.

  12. i think jill eliss has been fielding a weaker side on purpose. japan is doing the same. it's all tactics for the world cup. you cant give away too much to your rivals, so close to the tournament.

  13. Interesting point of view i respect but i disagree. Too many undeserving penalty kick being giving already. The with the other ridiculous problem, Penalty are given when the defender have both feet on the ground. If an attacker Hit a defender and dive, the defender shouldn't be penalized.

  14. Alexi!!! The 3 card system kills the game lol The throw in idea might regenerate and refurbish the attacking sides…so you're a genius.. kinda lol. If you think about it there is a 3 card system already plus the beauty of this game is the human aspect of the referee like in bball, the technical. So throw ins YESSS!!! BIGGER GOALS?.. I agree with your level headed son. No way!!!
