This is a clear and 100% red card. He touches the ball yes, but he hits the defender with open sole, which must be a red card in 100 of 100 cases. It is really wild how you MLS guys have no clue about football (excuse me, soccer) at all.
Lol hitting the ball first is literally in the rules saying no foul. This is just MLS level I guess. Terrible league

Just to make some of you happy, after an independant review, he was able to play in the final game. Horrible ref call. Now I'm not saying much after this but I gotta say this. I've played travel soccer since 8, and our team joined premire when I was 11. I'm going into high school next year. In a lot of incidents, especially in the regular travel, the center ref would call a foul or offside and the outfield ref knows it wasn't offside. But they just let it go. SPEAK UP, tell the center ref they're wrong, tell them it wasn't offside. I started reffing last year and this has got me lots of respect as a ref that I can ref higher leagues earlier on.
