  1. the big asterisk here is la liga vs premier league. so analysis will be biased but i'd rather watch this than shet that comes out of ex-pros who can't get a managerial job in the third division of a country.

  2. Salah's career numbers for Liverpool are legendary. His numbers this season are piss poor, on and off the ball.

Last season he said he made a deal with Slot: let me stay higher up the pitch and I'll provide the numbers. He's provided next to nothing this season. So Slot benched him and performances improved (Konate is still a liability but the team looked better). He can't afford to defend with a man down anymore.

But instead of proving Slot wrong, Salah burned his bridges. "No relationship" but Slot told him in private he'd be benched. "I'm not fighting for my position every day because I've earned it"? You've earned it by playing ridiculously well and training exceptionally hard. It sounds like the latter went the way of the former.

It stinks of an aging ego and lack of effort, and Liverpool simply cannot afford that toxicity in the team. Especially when Salah has never talked to the press to defend the team (like Virgil, Szobo, Jones…), only himself. Let him go imo, players change and the club persists.
