Dawoodarry reste l’homme fort de la FCC
L’Acting Director de la Financial Crimes Commission (FCC) est au cœur de l’actualité depuis vendredi. Des accusations ont émergé à la suite de l’arrestation de plusieurs protagonistes.
Depuis samedi matin, l’atmosphère était particulièrement tendue au sein du Reduit Triangle. L’institution est secouée par de graves allégations "d’ingérence".
L’un des commissaires de la FCC a été contraint de soumettre sa démission dans la plus grande discrétion. Finalement, dimanche après-midi, la FCC a publié un communiqué informant le public que Me Junaid Fakim avait présenté sa démission en tant que commissaire, pour des raisons personnelles.
Ce matin, au Parlement, le Leader de l’Opposition a interrogé le Premier ministre pour savoir si l’Acting Director de la FCC figurait parmi les protagonistes présents lors d’une réunion controversée. Le Dr Navin Ramgoolam a tenté d’éluder la question, affirmant qu’une enquête est en cours et qu’il ne pouvait fournir davantage de précisions à ce stade.
Au sein de l’institution, T. Dawoodarry semble toutefois pouvoir compter sur le soutien de ses officiers.
