  1. These concepts don't take into account what makes football at the highest level. Every game currently matters. You just can't afford to lose 25% of your games and expect to win championships, and no, playoffs and finals galore is not the answer. Let's stop trying to Americanise football. Todd will be asking us all to call the game soccer next.

  2. The all-star game won't create viewer or commercial interest. So they'll have to make it a celebrity and pop music spectacle like the nba version. The game is an afterthought

  3. The idea itself is great, it would be way more entertaining then say the uefa super cup. I would love to see a top XI or a fan voted XI from the different leagues battle eachother with the different play styles tbh

  4. adding international all-stars games (or all-stars games between national teams) is heaping more problems on players, despite the already tedious general soccer schedule

  5. Theoretically – this is a GREAT idea ! I would LOVE to see All Star games. Just think about when Messi and Ronaldo were in Barca and Real.. we would've seen them play in the same team (La Liga All Stars).

Practically – All Stars games are currently not doable because the calendars are too crowded. There is no room to fit these matches, WITHOUT LOSING QUALITY. <- this is the actual issue. If we overwork the players, their fitness levels will drop, which leads to bad perfomances and injuries. So the price to be payed is too high.

Bottom line: the only way to add All Stars games is to REPLACE some existing games. You just can't add additional games in the calendar, because the quality of football will drop.

  6. This actually could be the best idea ever! We have the best 18 players from the EPL and 18 best from Bundesliga!! That will be a fantastic watch!! It will put to bed about other leagues being, "farmers leagues"!! C'mon, get the logistics in place and lets have these games!! Start with 8 teams from 8 leagues around Europe!!

  7. Thank god we dont have commercial breaks and cheerleaders distracting fans and players alike. And if you are wondering whos winning? football is winning hands down against NBA,NFL on a global arena. All of a sudden even the Americans are going crazy for football. Football dominates highest paid stars in contrast just couple pf decades ago it was nowhere near NBA MLB and NFL

  8. If it happens, we’re not going to see any English player in this game. Best players in each premier league team are non English.

  9. Please the game has to evolve and get more interesting, an All star charity weekend won't be bad, it will help advise football more!! Let's be honest, who does not want to see an All star team play one game against each other!!!
Craig is making it sound as if they were creating an All star league with a 36 game season!!! Nope dat not it, it's a charity and fan weekend, and for me so many other things can go on that weekend, like reuniting old players!!!
    Program:
    1. Friday:, penalty shooting event, free kick event, etc
    2. Saturday: old world 11( pic old famous good players and they play against each other)
    3. All-star game: one game, and the concludes the weekend!

  10. Pro Bowl is the dumbest thing ever when players participate BEFORE the Superbowl. Like what's the point. And even after the Superbowl, the season is over, players don't care anymore….so why bother?

  11. I don't think all sports need all star games. Even in US, basketball and baseball have good all star games and not so much in NFL. Rather All star weeks are more of a rest.

Premier league where all have been complaining about lack of break. They can have a all star week not necessarily a all star game. They can have over few days of some skills challenge which are entertaining and keep viewers engaged.
Can't we see all star week as a much needed break rather than arguing about whether the game should take place or not? Just my humble opinion.
