Lucky we got to keep Fergusons goal after the var review. Collins clattered into their defenders. He also headed an amount of corners and crosses over their bar. Matt Doherty is off the pace at international level.
Heimir looks and talks like he's best friends with the players. There is no ruthlessness about him, he's never going to get rid of wasters like Doherty, or drop Nathan Collins, who is meant to be the captain but Ireland are conceding goals against very poor opposition especially at home where you would expect us to keep at least a clean sheet. I know he plays with Brentford but that doesn't automatically mean he is the best option, I'm sure O Brien could do a job better there than right back. I don't see them winning in Armenia, a goalless draw is the most likely outcome, especially if we play like we did in the first half.
Explain WHY Doherty and Collins were deployed to the left. Explain WHY we tried to play wide using wide players without pace or dribbling skillsets. Explain WHY our supposed areas of expertise – defensive organisation and set piece effectiveness – were exposed as ludicrously deficient.
