  1. soccer is number 5 or 6 sport in reland. Manager needs to look at gaelic footballers. Lets get real here. The athletes that fail at gaelic football and Rugby n reland then try playng soccer. ts obsvous theres lack of athletes in team. Bring in 7 or 8 top gael footballers. WHAT HAVE WE GOT TO LOSE?

  2. The Irish lads played well especially the first half and had they scored first, perhaps the game would have turned out differently. You have a good coach, give him the time to develop the team and the results will come. Greece has experienced players and once they score first, it's a tough squad to beat. A Greek who loves Ireland.

  3. crazy how the media fucking kissed kennys arse it was him and the fai that have us where we are ffs . he's only in the door and the media already on his back fuck off

  4. Ireland are nowhere we're with san Marino Luxembourg an teams like that we need our own professional league an academy's investment from government possibly stadiums upgraded no more short term goals granny rule all that make our own league professional also unify if possible with northern ireland an maybe in 15 20 years we could be good

  5. I wish halgrimson more lose in his career coaching😂😂..you jump ship and expected to just win but its not like that..your no good, and to the people of irland thos guys going to retire anytime his senses goes off😂😂..but yoi guys can keep paying

  6. Αγαπάμε και σεβόμαστε τον λαό της Ιρλανδίας.Ο αγώνας με την Αγγλία θα είναι πιο εύκολος!

  7. I bet this guy knew he had a job ahead of him, but didn't fully understand how much of a job and also didn't realize the extent of public apathy/unhappiness towards the team. FAI probably sold the job to him with images of World Cup 90 and fans dancing in water fountains etc.

I suspect he's probably already putting out the feelers for another club or national job right now.

  8. How are we to get any team together the FAI have done nothing to produce any players they have done nothing at school boy level to help grow and make players we could get pep kloop or whoever when you don't invest in the kids you will never get a team together the FAI are clueless handicaps that are killing the sport in this country clean house and start again

  9. Best thing to do is to get relegated to league c and hopefully take some results against lesser teams because there is no point in finishing 3rd in league b again and miss out on a play off. The pattern is the same we lost 2 nil to greece the last time. The difference between ireland is we dont score to match thf amount of goals we conceed so if we aren't keeping clean sheets we are done in every game. Its the midfield again not closing the other teams and playing the right ball into the forwards the forwards have to keep pulling back deep and chance is gone play it back to keeper avd giving the other teams too much time to defend.

  10. I will always love the the men’s team and watch on the tele and the stadium and to support. Now it’s no longer a team of excitement for competing with the top teams, I would describe like scared, fear,no confidence, no hope for trying to sort it out and an idea too. This has been the worst year for 2024 for the men’s team, the fai has to put on the blame for their mistakes after mistakes and not address and the idea, they should be ashamed of themselves and proud of themselves, thanks to them we are where we are as a team. The only players who excites me the most has to be Johnston,Ogbene,Keheller. The rest of them?. I don’t think they are fitting in the shirt. I will fight and support the men’s team till the end but this?.It’s unacceptable!!.We are in a crisis. No doubt. So how do we fix the problem?.🙏☘️🇮🇪

  11. I'll be interested to see what the squad looks like in the next round of games. We already know that he was leaning of O'Shea with the squad selection here due to time, and he made a point here of saying they need to find the right players and just play them. We may see a different looking team lining up come the Finland and Greece matches.

You can see some sparks of improvement in the Greece game. Kelleher, Ogbene, and Szmodics were consistent over both games. I would have liked to see Parrott get some game time there, and O'Brien, too.

I think a big issue is that the Kenny years were all about bringing young players in, which should have left us in a better position than it did. I feel like we should have been able to look back on those years as transitioning to the next generation of players, but they just aren't at the level yet, even with the international experience. Hopefully, we will see that improve now, but we're essentially starting a little way up the road rather than at the corner we need to turn.

  12. A lot of goals are conceded by Ireland by not clearing balls in our box.Secondly we are constantly caught on the break with Collins and O’Shea being way to far forward and can’t run back in time.Thirdly players standing off opposition at edge of box and letting them have a free long range shot.Thats the biggest thing we are known for.Fourth is that some players like Smallbone won’t track back.In fairness it was Doherty for second goal stopped running back where he might have been able to get a block on the Greece players shot for the second goal.Thats all about effort and nothing about skill or ability.

  13. Unfortunately it doesn't matter who the manager is…we just dont have the top class players anymore..irish football is back in the doldrums yet again..the players give there all but it is the worst irish team i have seen in 40 years…fai need to set up proper academies but they can't be trusted ..the fai is already 40 million in debt…this 3 billion from apple that is to be paid to ireland should definitely be giving a cut of that into grassroot football…we are years away from competing at anywhere near the top tiers….where are all the talent like we have had before..staunton..irwin..keane..duff..dunne..quinn.stapleton..moran etc etc etc brady Giles…for the younger generation who don't even know who jack charlton was,,my god but ye missed out on a magical era in not just football but the country was bouncing …rip big jack legend … Aviva should be called the jack charlton stadium …

  14. Robbie Brady must be unreal in training to be still getting picked.. its absolutely laughable.. he over hit almost any cross and fouled his man about 5 times

  15. You always have a chance when you have an intelligent manager he will improve this team however its not going to happen overnight we should starting seeing something develop for the next campaign we just need patience
