Not how this works. In Europe you have the season, Which is from Late August to late May. International Tournaments, like the World Cup are played in between seasons. So pretty much players in it forego most of their vacations. And around late July is the pre season, when clubs play friendlies in order to get in shape and train before the actual season. In the southern hemisphere its different since our seasons are inverted.
