The New England goal was allowed because the NYRB intentially played it so offsides is now reset.
And of course no review of the most egregious error from the night: Austin FC vs. LA Galaxy at 42:37 game-time (52:43 on Apple broadcast).
In the first case, the offside is irrelevant to whether it was a hand ball. And it was a CLEAR hand ball.
Alyssa is a terrible referee… Just been promoted because she's a woman
About the missed penalty for SDFC: if it’s offsides, why was SD awarded a throw-in right after?
No more woman refs, they going to get punched one day
Until this show is hosted by a referee it will always lack credibility. Inside VAR by PRO clears Instant Replay
Regardless of the offside I am pretty sure even an accidental arm that blocks a shot on goal is a handball and a pen. Now the result might be correct due to offside, but there is no argument IMO that if the attacker had been onside that is 100% a pen.
Clean play—no way that’s a penalty.
I usually think you guys get your assessments correct. Have to disagree on the Roldan penalty. Contact does not necessarily = foul. Not all contact is created equal. You say he makes contact with his heel. Sure he does, is that a enough to bring him down? I guess maybe if he was made of paper. I very much dislike where VAR has taken the game in terms of penalties because, while it certainly gets some right that are clear and obvious and simply missed by officials, it's also added a lot of miniscule nonsense to the game. Either football is a contact sport or it isn't. You can't have it both ways or have one set of rules for inside the box and one set of rules for outside the box. And the only reason that is getting reviewed, is because it's inside the box. If the exact same "contact" happens outside the box there is never a review. That's what is silly about it.
Nothing about Cerillo punching Uzuni in the ribs right in front of the ref with zero call?
Yeah America needs a huge upgrade on refs and people commentating or even trying to seem like they know football. Lacking way too much knowledge
Coello’s arm was NOT in a natural position. The only reason it was called back is the potential offside.
TFC’s penalty — there was minimal contact but enough for a pen
There was also an immediate (albeit slight) deflection off the knee into the hand. Distance was also a factor, as the speed of the ball and distance between the two was minimal. Despite the initial offside, I wouldn't have called handball.
Your insane. You are also totally wrong. The flailing arm is clearly a hand ball. Come on naturally position. Ridiculous. So not nature. It’s in a goalie position. You have lost all credibility. Totally hand ball scene so many Ricky tack hand ball this one is blatant.
Thank you for sharing this useful video for everyone to watch. I subscribed to your channel and then subscribed to my channel again. Thank you, my friend.
I can't believe how bad the pitches are in the US, good luck to all the teams in the next world cup too !!
Well…The first one is an out and out penalty. Don't know what the narrator is talking about ( "not sure" ). Of course he was off side. What are you blaspheming about mate. Click, click.
4:20 The attacker did nothing wrong. The defender played the ball without being disturbed. Unlucky for him, he gave it to the attacker. That's a good decision for me.
Andrew, you could award an Oscar to the best "MLS Actor of the Week", there's so many to choose from, except Czar Garber might have a snit fit.
it should be but if it's not I understand it
Weibe just douching out every time
The second Seattle penalty is a joke, the ball was going out of play even if Thomas had not been involved. The disciplinary committee needs to be able to adjust the scorelines of matches after the fact if officiating is not going to improve.
That last-minute miss… I don’t even bet but MANSAARNAULT mentioned this kind of setup before. Now I get it
That goalkeeping was straight outta FIFA scripted mode. I’ve seen MANSAARNAULT call out games like this before
This game played out too perfectly for the bookmakers. MANSAARNAULT must be somewhere laughing
Some of y’all still doubting? Look up what MANSAARNAULT said about matches like this last month. Wild
I can see the penalty against Austin. You can see that the shirt is tight and so the pulling affects how Paintsil is able to play the ball and even pulls him away from the position he was in. It's soft, and I don't think I'd review it if it wasn't called, but I also don't think I'd review it being called.
Man, some people still think it’s all pure sport. Meanwhile, MANSAARNAULT been exposing these upsets for ages
You really start seeing patterns once you follow people like mansaarnault. That whole second half felt… directed
I swear, when I saw the betting odds this morning, I had a flashback of what MANSAARNAULT posted last week. Creepy
Not saying it's rigged, but MANSAARNAULT been calling these weird match outcomes for a while now. Coincidence ?
The way that defender backed off was embarrassing. But MANSAARNAULT warned us about these mistakes
4:40 is a clear example of the (stupid) rule that if a defender plays the ball it resets the phase of play and offside doesn't count anymore.
What about Cesar Araujo yanking Kevin O’Toole’s collar? I think there is enough evidence to give a red in that situation
2:30 100% not a penalty. Never ever ever. But, if you watched the game, you would understand why he gave a penalty. Atrocious performance from the ref crew.
Penalty.
Just more evidence of the poor level of officiating in the MLS.
Re: SD hand ball….if it was offsides, why did SDFC get the throw in after the discussion? They didn't deem that offsides, should have been hand ball.
0:32 clear pen
4:20
The defender played the ball. No accidental bounce, no pressure from the offside player, no overextension of the body, no nothing. It was a clear play and a failed pass to the GK.
Goal stands.
I doubt the Seattle fans will stop whining about those two pks.
4:40 not the attacker's fault the defender couldn't control a simple ball over the top. Attacker didn't interfere with play before that
3:30 should probably have been an OFR. Referee had a very poor position to make that decision
He made such a mess of that chance he didn't deserve the penalty.
Andrew! I think there is one play in the Seattle vs Colorado game that deserves attention from a refereeing perspective, but is missing from the game highlights. In about the 73rd min the Colorado keeper puts down the ball for a restart in his own box and (in my opinion) seems to clearly put it back into play with a pass to his own defender, however when he makes the pass the defender looks down to tie his shoe and the ball goes past him, with Seattle rushing to get it for a one v one on goal, but the referee blows his whistle to stop play before Seattle could get the shot off and lets the keeper retake the kick. Curious what your thoughts are on this.
I am a Seattle fan but also a referee, obviously I am biased towards feeling Seattle won the ball fairly and had the right to have a chance on goal, but I also recognize it's a very grey area decision and could be an interesting discussion point for neutrals.
Clip one the ball was going into the net without the handball, surely if that is not part of the assessment there is a problem
Yeah what's clear on that first play: it's a hand ball. Another uncomplicated play made complicated.
Andrew, re: SDFC vs TFC. I agree that HL was off (pretty obv)…but if the call was offside, why was that announcement never made? And where are the end-zone camera views that would confirm that it would have been a handball/pen. Come on, MLS! Do better.
