scholes the only english midfielder to win 2 hatricks of titles 99/2000/20001/- 07/08/09. only 6 teams have won a hatrick of titles in history. scholes was integral to both united hatricks. no other english midfielder comes close. the stats and the facts . stevie g no prems. its not even close. gerrard was a robbo type player. robson/scholes or lampard gerrard. robson scholes all day long
Even Scholes admit he wouldn’t have done what Gerrard did at Liverpool. People have to realize the quality of teams between those two. Scholes played for a dynasty whilst Gerrard led Liverpool to any ounce of relevancy in a mediocre era.

Yea stevie would be prefered in a sense that he could captain a team he was more energetic a box to box midfielder he was better tackler more physical than scholsey.But technically and vision wise scholesy was better he had a gift of awareness more so than 90% of the centre mids he always knew who was around and he always knew what he was gonna do with the ball wfore it came to his feet pretty much only players like pirlo,xavi and iniesta have that gift not may others.Scholesy couldnt lead a team like stevie but he could control one withbthe right players around him stevie onlybhad class players around him from time to time but scholes had them around him pretty much all the time at utd their different players tbf but scholesy was technically more gifted he had to be he wasnt as physical as stevie or other physical mids that were around.

Single-handedly, eh ? Alonso, mascherano, Coutinho kuyt,dudek,hyypia,Torres,Suarez,finnan, Reina, Henderson, Sturridge, Luis Garcia,Agger,Arbeloa,skrtel all played with Gerrard and contributed to the collective success of the first team.
Gerrard was a player of many, many gifts. However, cup successes during his time at Liverpool, were not only down to him and him alone. He was influential in the final…don't get me wrong but that doesn't mean he single-handedly dragged like Maradona in 86'.
