It's all politics. The NCAA hated seeing ole miss get so far, they hate seeing the Rebels with a premier quarterback, they'd love to see Ole Miss crash and burn, all because of that history and that Rebel name. But none of them ever praise how far the program, the school and the culture has came. They hear Ole Miss Rebels, and immediately go towards racism in their heads without realizing that OM and its fans and culture is so far beyond all that garbage, but those people in the suits just can't get it out of their heads and get past it, and they really need to. That's the only thing holding this program back, but they're having a really hard time doing it because the talent is so great. Ole Miss was a holding call and a pass interference call that was never called from going to a national championship. If the refs would have done their jobs at the end of that game Miami wouldn't have converted that last 3rd down, and if the PI would have been called in the in zone like it should have, they could have won by a field goal at the end of that game, but you can probably guarantee the head of the NCAA was on the phone with the refs at the end of that game doing everything they could to keep them guys from winning that game. All the stuff going on in the news, the last thing they wanted was a team called the Rebels representing the country in a championship game. But if these people in the NCAA can get the politics out of their heads and stop with all the PR trying to politicize the Rebels name then they'd have no problem with giving someone like Chambliss another year.
