  1. lol yes in that case, we do need to pray for some divine help. but in all honesty, if it gets more casual soccer fans in NYC to identify with the team and become regular viewers of the game, it will be an overall success (in my opinion). I think the simple lack of exposure to the sport is one of the biggest hurdles soccer needs to overcome in the states before it can get more popular. I think this Yankee/MCFC partnership has a bigger chance of being a good thing than it does in being a failure

  2. Chill dude, everyone has their preferences/opinions about this type of crap. Bottom line is it will likely be a positive addition to MLS, and in the end that's the most important. MLS needs to be happy to simply survive and exist in the American sporting culture, and it's doing a great job. Chivas was indeed a huge failure, but NYCFC likely will have many more fans because it's the City's own team as opposed to a Jr. version of a team from abroad (even tho they have ties to Man City).
