Nobody outside of the US look a the the US like a good in soccer, if fact Canada has better chances than the US. See the United States is like Arabia Saudi they are the ones with the money but that’s all. In the US they don’t even have good soccer field other than a just good looking view for the sponsors.
My order of operations for backing a team in the World Cup:
1. USA (obvious choice as an American)
2. Any Asian country (I’m Chinese), preferably Korea over Japan
3. Mexico (Canada too but let’s be real)
4. Any South American country (Western hemisphere solidarity)
5. Any African country
6. England (our mother country and closest ally and they seem like the most tortured fanbase lol)
