  1. So World Cup 2014 USA vs Germany??? And you don't take the best player from USA??? KlisnmmanHitler!!! Donovan can be the different in the game for the experience. How can USA let this German Coach do that??? So bad decision.

  2. When you hired a Nazis as your national soccer coach what else do you expect to see? Nazis are great liars, they always act before they think. Klinsmann and his son Jonathan  is a typical example.

  3. tenia que ser aleman para demostrar su ego porque eso es puro ego porque el sabe jurgenstupedklinsgbeatch that l d play better than him, come on just get back were you belong and whoever elected u should be another geggggman

  4. I think that it's better to not have Donovan on the 23-man squad. I like having younger legs off the bench, which is where Donovan was going to be. I don't see him starting under any circumstance. It's sad that LD won't get his swan song, but the USMNT is now showing that they are going to try a different direction that I think can work out in Brazil

  5. I feel people don't realize Landon didn't earn his way to Brazil, He left the team for a year and went to Cambodia, He doesn't make the whole team, Don't get me wrong I love LD but he didn't earn his way to Brazil.

  6. Donovan is what we used to call a "money player"——like Reggie Jackson he shines most brightly when the lights are at their brightest. Klinsmann is a fool. Yet another dive to the turf by the biggest "flopper" in football history. A back breaking move.
Jurgen needs to be escorted back to the biergarten. Preferably deep within Deutschland.
    A classic blunder.

  7. I think Klinsman has a master plan for the teams chemistry that he felt Donovan didn't fit in. We've got three more games to see what that is.

  8. Because, okay, let's break down the squad: I love Altidore, but with his season in London who thinks he would have a better impact than even a 30+ year old LD. Nobody! I don't even believe Dempsey is an impacting player without Donovan's experience, creativity and rallying presence. I do have faith in Bradley as a strong playmaker in his own right and I put him top of the team now, but I mean… There were 23 other players BEFORE LD?! Even as a sub, his presence would have meant everything! I believe in Klinnsman, but I'm totally baffled and disappointed, like everybody else

  9. I'm honestly just hurt and disappointed at the decision. There's so much to say that I have to break down, but maybe<maybe> Jurgen decided the pressure on their other top players without Landon would be enough to actually make a BETTER result? Just trying to rationalize it, I don't believe it's a fair decision for anybody

  10. Yedlin is a surprise inclusion?  Have you not seen him play?  He's an up and comer for sure in my mind.  Brad Evans should be in midfield maybe but he just lacks speed and class on the ball.  He's good but not good enough.

  11. I feel that John Brooks makes too many mistakes, like in the Ukraine and Austria game. I feel comfortable if Goodson was in, but oh well. I am happy that Wondo is going. I think they should go on a 4-4-2 formation, and Bradley be more attacking mind set.

  12. Honestly it's going to be impossible to make it out of the group, with Germany and Portugal. Why not get some new young players that can deal with the heat (better) and also get some experience and build a strong core for the future. With or without Landon the results this year are not going to really matter.

  13. We must accept this team. I love that Coach Jurgen didnt select Donovan, this experience in the world cup will be valuable to these players. This world cup means that Russia 2018 and Qatar 2022's  USA squad will be experienced and stronger. Coach Jurgen WAS the Germany coach in 2006 afterall. So we should trust him and his ability. This just shows that European coaches are  many steps ahead of americans

  14. The big question is can anyone play as such high quality like Donovan has played in all the World Cups he played in and how will the team be affected by not having Donovan in the starting line up as a fan of mexico I always hated him because he kept scoring against us and he was a key factor of the offense I'm still sad he didn't make the team good luck usa

  15. The future is created by what you do today…not tomorrow. LD had his shot in camp and blew it. Idc who's going so long as we make it out of our group

  16. Landon Donovan is in bad form, succumbed to MLS goal record pressure, and is mentally unfit to lead any team. He is a crybaby, a whiner, a little bitch. Whether LD was there or not, the US chances remain unchanged. He is not a difference maker, and the only purpose of bringing him would be to put on a little show. That, in my opinion is more unproductive and a waste of a World Cup than letting a few young guys go to their first World Cup. Landon did not earn it, plain and simple. Klinsmann isn't going to bring a player who will only play for this WC and possibly retire. It is time to build for the future, deal with it. Landon Donovan is an example of what we need to overcome, a limited height to which we need to surpass.

  17. I like that Yedlin is on the team as defense. He has the speed and athleticism to put pressure on forwards. Gonzalez may make mistakes but his size is invaluable for contesting headers and making it more difficult for shorter attackers.

  18. What a bunch of cry babies. If LD is not made for this years team it was not meant to be. From what I hear he hasn't been doing well this season anyway. I bet you anything if he would be on the team and not play well people would criticize the coach for picking him.

  19. Is Zusi not a starter? He'd be a good more offensive counterpart to Bradley, who will probably play in a more holding capacity. I may be wrong, but I wasn't super impressed with Jones thru qualifying…?
