“What do you want your legacy to be as a coach? Do you want to be Vince Lombardi or Bear Bryant? I said Bear Bryant… So, what are you doing going to Miami than?”
The conversation we’ve all been waiting for where Channing’s infamous stories get checked, and we have some laughs while we learn the path of one of the most respected and successful figures in sports. Ahead of College Football’s National Championship, we get to sit with the man who has the most wins with 7 titles and decades of storied seasons.
Newly selected Hall of Fame Coach and the true GOAT of college football, Nick Saban, is sitting with Ryan, Channing and Fred for a rare and personal look into the journey that shaped his life, the values that drive his success, and the lessons learned from decades of coaching at the highest level.
The conversation begins with Saban reflecting on his humble beginnings and how he stumbled into coaching, despite initially wanting nothing to do with it. He recalls working at his father’s service station and the life-changing moment he realized coaching was a way to combine his love for competition with a deeper purpose: shaping young men’s futures. With humor and humility, Coach shares how he never set out to become the “GOAT” but focused on the process—a philosophy that has become synonymous with his name.
Saban notes pivotal moments in his career, including his brief and challenging stint with the Miami Dolphins. He opens up about the decision not to sign Drew Brees due to a failed physical, a move that still lingers as one of his biggest “what-ifs.” Despite this, he explains why returning to college football was the right decision, allowing him to develop players both on and off the field in ways the NFL couldn’t.
Both having played for Saban, Ryan and Channing speak of Saban’s legendary leadership style, exploring how he motivates players and manages diverse personalities. He shares how he learned to tailor his coaching approach to each individual and how to get the best out of his guys that went way beyond talent and skill.
It’s a known thing that when you see Coach Saban, his wife isn’t too far away. Always by his side, Miss Terry has been Coach’s partner in life, football and all his endeavors for more than 50 years as the two met as young kids and created this life they could never imagine which has been sustained through love, success and true dedication.
The conversation goes from life lessons to lighter locker room talk as the guys bring up Channing’s rookie stunt during Saban’s tenure in Miami to get his reaction and how that really all went down, Saban responds in the best “Nick Saban” way possible as Ryan, Fred and Channing break out into laughter.
From joking around and reminiscing, the episode reveals never-told-before stories, the real reason why Saban said farewell to coaching as the guys don’t shy away from discussing the challenges facing modern college football. Saban gets into the current state of NIL while sharing his concerns for growth, character building and how the futures of young men are being altered.
In a reflective moment, Saban looks back on his life and all the things he feels defined him as he recalls certain times he had to push his teams harder, especially when complacency crept in after winning which led to creating his famous, “nothing speech,” where he reminds players that entitlement leads to nothing and what underscores commitment to hard work and accountability.
Packed with humor, wisdom, and powerful lessons, this episode offers an unparalleled look into the mind of one of sports’ greatest leaders. Whether you’re a fan of the game or simply looking for inspiration, Nick Saban’s journey will leave you motivated to trust the process and redefine success on your own terms. As a lifelong LSU fan and Louisiana native, when Saban left LSU it hurt and we all knew we lost the best coach. And although we respected Les Miles for what he ended up accomlishing at LSU, he wasnt Saban. Even tho Saban only had 1 natty back then we all saw how good he was. And when he joined Bama goddamn, cant express how much it stung.
The way you capture moments is so beautiful. 😍
Channing is irritating…
Much respect to Coach for walking away instead of constantly complaining about NIL. Nice to see he has a sense of humor.
This is why I love your videos. Great reaction!
Man I know Nick was considered “satan” bc he was Bama and LSU hated him.. but man he seems like a REAL and genuine guy, a straight shooter, I have a lot of respect for Coach Saban.

Looks like you had an amazing day! ✨
Wow, this changed my perspective. Great job! 💡
Damnit it's CUT !
Omg, I didn’t see that coming! 😱
Wait for it… BAM! 😂 Perfect timing.
Clear, concise, and easy to follow. Great job explaining!
I can't believe how much I learned from this. Subscribed! 🔔
If you let a handful of “power” conferences decide who’s worthy before the games even matter, you’re not running a playoff—you’re running a cartel. College football claims to be about competition, but excluding entire conferences based on reputation and money admits the opposite: outcomes on the field are secondary to brand protection. If the Power Five are truly better, they should prove it by beating everyone else when it counts, not by slamming the door shut and calling it fairness. A playoff that starts by declaring some teams irrelevant isn’t merit-based, isn’t competitive, and sure as hell isn’t sport—it’s gatekeeping dressed up as tradition.

Your passion really shines through your work. Keep it up!
Omg, I didn’t see that coming! 😱
I been with ya since you jjjoined the Super SEC in 89 coach and Bama' ain't going nowhere without u or i and goes for the same with Florida ol coach" 🦣
I'm glad I decided to watch this a second time because I had previously missed the part of what Belichek said about Saban being in a class by himself & that he has no peers. I sincerely believe in the truth of that statement!
And I will use an example. If Saban was the Coach at Ole Miss despite any advice he gave Lane Kiffin. If he was the current coach at Ole Miss he would have never even discussed taking the job at LSU with a season still to finish. He would NOT have gambled the rest of that teams season by even the discussion of going to LSU.
55:22 Coach Saban said it perfectly!!!! Look at Notre Dame and some of the teams that opted out of their bowl games this week
The editing here is seamless. Love how it all comes together!
Holy crap. Niick Saban is 100 times the coach that bb is
It would cool if both Belichick and Saban came back and coached the same NFL team like they did back in the day with the Browns.
I feel like Lane kiffin listened to this either before or after going on Theo Von podcast. He says the same exact words as Nick.
Alabama fans cried so hard when he retired… I'm not a Bama or Auburn fan, but it cracked me up. They been crap since hahhahahah
Imagine the f@cking mechanic this guy would have been…
