I grew up hating NE, bein in the south it's instilled in some of us, to just hate "Yankees" but I always loved watching Taylor. Easily one of the top 5 greatest players to ever grace this league, he was a brute and so much fun to watch. Why he didn't represent the US more was always a mystery to me.
Great player, great guy. Lucky enough to see him play, lucky enough to meet him in person a couple of times. Such a great influence on the game and the players around him. His early retirement due to severe concussions is a real loss for the game and the league. I'll watch MLS matches between teams I don't root for solely because he's doing the color commentary. Also have to love the work he's now doing to increase awareness and research of sports-related head injuries. All class.

I used to freaking ADORE twellman. I was so pissed whenever he wasn't chosen for the national team. I miss that guy. Well, he does announcing now but I miss watching him play.
