“That’s why results are most important” definitely, the thing is France has been the “results” team since they won the World Cup, out outside of a handful of games I wouldn’t really consider them as entertaining, just solid at the back with world class talent up front to make the difference . The biggest difference between their previous tournaments is that the front 3 are out of form, Griezmann especially because he’s actually been the one organizing the French attack, apart from the final in the last World Cup he was easily their best player.
I’m bringing all this up because it’s always important to remember how you got results, that one game where your top performers aren’t clicking your system or lack of one gets exposed.
I’m seeing all the South Gate records and some fans asking for an extension meanwhile the combination of being on the good side of the draw since 2018 and Jude’s last minute bicycle kick are bigger than any tactics from him, you can give him praise for beating teams they should or for the subs in the last game but they tend to come up short against genuinely better sides, I think this might not be as close as people think but in a final you honestly never know
