Morocco and Spain faced off in the knockout stage of the 2022 FIFA World Cup. The first half was a defensive one, as both teams got shots on goal but none of them went through. The second half was even more of a defensive struggle, with both teams managing to hold each other in check. They would head to extra time at 0-0. While both teams had multiple chances on goal, no-one scored and we would go to PKs. Morocco’s Goalkeeper Yassine Bounou would block three Spanish chances and Morocco would win in PKs.

That penalty shootout was one of the most special moments of the World Cup. Up until then, Morocco were regarded as a rather insignificant team in the tournament. But those goalkeeper saves changed everything and all eyes were on Morocco.
