  1. He is right though, cause since the teams aren't that big and great like the Premier League and La Liga teams, they teams aren't that good, you don't know who would win so its hard to win, but they are doing so well right now for the youth which would change MLS, but they need to add promotion and relegation and add one single table with the person who won the most games and with the most points, wins the league. Cause of this, MLS is kind of interesting.

  2. Well, heโ€™s not wrong. MLS has parity so it is the most competitive. I think saying โ€œcompetitiveโ€ is the wrong choice of word though as it implies superiority over other leagues. Maybe most โ€œfairโ€ league is a better choice?

  3. Most uninteresting League in the world nothing more of a semi pro league where not much talent and safest to invest in since there is no threat of relegation want a competitive league watch the Premier League 5 Giant clubs ( Arsenal, Chelsea, Man Utd, Man City, Liverpool) with more history and backbone than the MLS could ever have fighting it out for 4 slots to a chance to compete in the UEFA Champions League let's not forget in the Premier league your not safe from relegation you got to fight to stay in the Top flight of the Premier league that is what you call a competitive league as far as a level playing field if a team live leicester city can win the league it shows it takes a lot more then just money to win the league

  4. lol mls went wrong when they play to real madrid cf and as house and loss they are not even nearly in that rank especially with leagues like serie a, j-league,turkish super lig, liga mx, premier league, russian premier league, la liga as a league despite the loss to house club team. Please stop embarasing yourself america thinking everything is number one because that's what the goverment put's infront of your face and tv screens.

  5. The MLS started off with only 10 teams and expanded to now 23. We have 15 teams who have won because of the amount of new teams not growth with in those team to win. New teams came in and won itโ€™s been awhile since any of the original 10 won a championship. So how are we competitive if new teams like Atlanta United can come in and completely dominate the regular season in their first year.

  6. MLS could sign all of the la liga and premier leagues best players and people would still say it isnโ€™t a good league and it never will be to those people. And thatโ€™s okay, some people are just that ignorant and you have to let them be or else they get all triggered

  7. he used the wrong, its not the most competitive but the most parity. Which can be a good thing and is often in the salary cap era. However it often makes it so there is no super dominant franchise (not always obviously the Patriots showed that)

But the other downside is there are no 2-3 super good teams that could even playa against european teams competitively. And that would probably grow the sports more than a different MLS cup winner all the time

  8. I disagree. There are leagues that are way more or just as competitive, the obvious examples are BPL and Liga MX, but there's also Primera Division ARG, Campeonato Brasileiro, and J-League just to name a few. One thing I'd like to argue is that in MLS, there are no true "rivalries" (clasicos/derbies) which makes the league less competitive and bit boring/emotionless. One example of this was just a few years ago in the CCL final where every fan of MLS rallied with Montreal cheering them on, meanwhile Club America was under alot of pressure by alot of Club America's rival's fans (basically, the rest of the fanbase of Liga MX), especially after that 4-0 loss against Queretaro. It honestly feels like players go to MLS for the money only, and not to defend the colors of an MLS club (which is reasonable I guess, since MLS fans like I've said, are just not passionate, there's no true rivalries in MLS)..

  9. He needs to throw in the caveat that for the first 10 years or so MLS had a hard cap, so most of the championship parity he's referring to came from that error. By the way, if MLS didn't introduce the designated player rule, the league would be dead by now…but that's a whole other story.

  10. Lack of quality is what stops me from watching the MLS. Or maybe it's the turf fields that make me field thay way. Ball bouncing more and it travels faster. Maybe if all the MLS teams had quality grass fields… it would generate a different image of soccer in America.

  11. MLS is mediocre, growing but mediocre, its competitive because every club is low-tire. If you look through Latin America like liga MX, Argentine league, Brazil… you will find them to be more competitive than mls, this statement is just bias . Even then European leagues dominated by big teams still have competitive clubs, and are more competitive than MLS.

  12. Its funny how mls is actively trying to bring soccer to life, and Euro Snobs and LigaMX snobs are quick to criticize. Why not let a lower level league at least try? Its not saying its better than the EPL, La Liga, or bundesliga… all he said was that it is a more level playing field. Thats all he is saying. Lets not compare apples to oranges…

  13. MLS is cool but idk never really like the basketball format it uses they should just make it more like a regular league and make a domestic cup like you fight for the league and play a cup tournament like Copa del rey. And also America should have a champions league more matches, more exposure and more revenue. And it would be awesome to have the league begin in August and end in May basically saying make MLS La Liga of America they all ready have superstars why not make it so players have more to play.

  14. Again yall he isn't talking about team quality. He is saying all teams in MLS are all equal to each other in talent. So in the MLS the competition is very close and competitive amongst themselves. Their is no Barcelona, Madrid, Atl Madrid, Valencia like La Liga. There is also no Man United, Man City, Chelsea and Arsenal like in premier league. You see the same 4 teams every year finishing in the top 4 spots every year. While in the MLS it seems like almost every year its a new team and not the usual same 2 or 4 teams playing for a championship year after year. The MLS is Avg to below avg compared to the major euro leagues in total quality of teams, but as overall competivness goes MLS is at the top because the talent is equal all across the board.
