Oh, MLS… I guess you've given up even pretending to be a serious league then. Continue to act like this and it'll never be more than a joke retirement league.
Some of the replacement ref crews have been pretty good. Others were a little shaky. Honestly, even the actual Pro Refs made the same mistakes last season.
MLS doesn't want anyone talking about the oroblem they created. They should trying paying their referees.

Let's stop acting like these refs are just random referees of the street. As a regonial level referee from Arkansas I personally know 5 of the referees that were replacement. They are the best referees in our state as well as one is from Missouri and he is as well. They consistently do MLS Next and NWSL games. Which are both the tier below MLS.
First the open cup fiasco and now this. The MLS is so out of touch. It's a tourist league for Messi fans.. If only Taylor swift started dating an MLS star, it would suit the reality TV direction the league seems to be aiming for..
This if funny and why English commentators are so much better. They don't feel any duty to "Educate the fans". They just describe the action — rarely if ever questioning the referee.
MLS = WWE is the best line of the entire video. MLS (the organization and ownership) is and always has been a clown show. Definition of amateur hour created to enrich a few at the expense of true sport. Sad that it is a retirement home for past stars.
I want to love the MLS being a St. Louis CITY SC fan. But they make it SO. DAMN. HARD.

For the record, all the refs are “real” refs. They just aren’t at that level yet. I’m a youth ref myself and trust me when I tell you that they are trying their best in a toxic situation out there.
