  1. In Belarus, a similar miracle is occuring. ML Vitebsk, who are only a newly-promoted team, are first place unbeaten 8 points clear of 2nd place more than halfway throughout the new season. This is their first season ever in the top flight, and they didn't even win the 2nd tier league last season. If they keep this form, they could be in the UCL/any UEFA competition for the first time in their history.

    History Section:

Maxline Vitebsk were founded in 1983 as as Avtomobilist Rogachev and were later renamed to KSM Rogachev the next year. From their founding until the fall of the Soviet Union, they played in the Belarusian SSR league, and in 1988, they were renamed as Dnepr Rogachev. In 1992, they entered the newly created Belarusian 3rd tier, where they stayed there for the next few seasons until they were promoted to the 2nd tier in 1996. In 1998, they changed their name to FC Rogachev, in 2001, they partnered with a local football academy and changed their name to Rogachev-DUSSh-1, and in 2002, they changed their name to Dnepr-DUSSh-1 Rogachev. After 9 seasons in the top flight, they got relegated in 2005 back to the third tier, finishing last place. In 2006, they disbanded. Between 2007 and 2013, an amateur team represented their place in the amateur leagues of the Gomel Oblast, where they were based. In 2014, they were reformed as MKK-Dnepr Rogachev and rejoined the 3rd tier, before changing their name to Dnepr Rogachev the year after. In 2021, Maxline, a Belarusian betting company, took over Dnepr Rogachev and changed their name to Maxline Rogachev. What followed was back-to-back promotions to the Belarusian Premier League, or so they though. They got promoted in the 2021 season to the 2nd tier and in the 2nd tier despite not finishing in a promotion spot (4th), 3rd place Shakhtyor Petrikov were a farm club/B team, hence couldn't be promoted and the promotion playoff spot went to Maxline Rogachev, which they won. However, they couldn't get a license to compete in the top flight of Belarus, so they stayed in the Belarusian First League, or the 2nd tier of Belarus, and renamed themselves to Maxline Vitebsk and relocated from Rogachev to Vitebsk. In the 2023 season, they finished 5th place, not in a promotion spot. However, in the 2024 season, they finished 2nd place in the league, enough for an automatic promotion spot. Now in the Belarusian Premier League more than halfway throughout the season, they are 1st place unbeaten so far 8 points clear of 2nd place Slavia Mozyr. In 2025, they also changed their name to ML Vitebsk for the final time so far because according to the rules of the Belarusian Football Federation, clubs cannot be called by the name of bookmakers before being promoted.

If you're wondering, they had 11 different names in their entire 42-year history.

Also, their current manager, Alyaksandr Shahoyka, had never managed a senior club before ML Vitebsk, which makes this even more crazier.

  2. Telling that aik is in the ”big top 3” are mad. It’s only Malmö FF and IfK Göteborg if we mean club history and only Malmö FF if we talk the last 15 years

  3. As a fan since 2008 of Mjällby AIF, I have never been happier to see them fighting for first spot in swedens highest tier. I have seen their downfall and phoenix saga.
I am still in shock because i thought we would end up in at least 4-6th place

  4. The pronunciation of A.I.K. hurt my soul. The A is pronounced like when you’re at the dentist and they ask you to aaaa, the I is very similar to English and the K is very hard to explain, so just use the google translate’s pronunciation if you want to know.
