Roughly 23:00 i remember Vossy going forward a bit late in his career and being an absolute gun as a forward.
Just casually kicking 5 goals in a half while "resting" in the forward line.

Thank you, Howie for this great episode. As a 30+ year Bears/Lions member, Vossy has been The Man of AFL for me since forever. It is so pleasing to see that he remains the thoughtful, humble, driven but also team oriented man he was in his early playing days. Showing no bitterness at all, after coaching did not turn out the way he hoped it would – twice! He is a credit to his family and himself. I wish him well in whatever he chooses to do and look forward to the inevitable book whenever he deems the suitable time to share his life lessons learnt with the masses.

A history of not being able to coach
Fact is Voss got Carlton into a preliminary final, the furthest the club got in over 20 years, many coaches prior to that didn't get near that. So that can never be taken away, the guy clearly can coach. So maybe there was issues around adapting game plans, strategic planning, etc. Its a tough caper things don't always work out perfectly in the long term. As a blues fan this in depth interview was really good, covered a lot of interesting topics. I didn't know Howie had a podcast, just subbed!

As a Carlton supporter i respect Voss for all the good work he did at Carlton. Unfortunate it didn't work out long term but will always be thankful for his service to the club.
It's a shame coaching didn't work out for him, because vossy has always seemed like such a champion on and off the field.
