  1. Born in an Irish hospital then moved to London, absolutely NOTHING Irish about this Nigerian Brit..Never even lived in Ireland and has no family connection to the country. Ireland have always been desperate for English players, what a joke!

  2. Sounds like he doesnt consider himself that Irish but picked us because it's a better chance to play international football. Completely understandable, hope he does brilliant for us

  3. Let's look at Ireland's last team versus Denmark – Randolph; Doherty, Dufy (captain), Egan, Stevens; Whelan, Hendrick, Hourihane; Browne, McGoldrick, McClean. Only ones with and English accent is McGoldrick.

  4. To all the English people commenting on this video unlike your national team Ireland has a very small select pool of players to choose from which means often means players chosen to represent Ireland are not originally born in Ireland or in Michael Obafemi’s case was born in Ireland and moved to England at a young age don’t have Irish accents! Chill out 800 years of oppression we don’t forget 🇮🇪

  5. Let me explain something to all the English people here
Ireland does not have a great football league which means a lot of young Irish players get scouted by English clubs. Hence why many of them have developed English accents!

  6. Honestly he should only be eligible to play for England or Nigeria he was literally only born in Ireland no connection to it what so ever I don’t even know why he would pick Ireland over Nigeria Nigeria is way better he probably couldn’t make it in the English and Nigerian team that’s why he’s playing for Ireland

  7. U all claiming nationality are stupid when he does good for Ireland then u call him Irish I kinda love England they give u a chance if u good just like Antony Joshua they call him British who wants to be Irish ☘️ nobody ask Declan rice he would tell ya same
