Being Manchester United fan all my life and big fan of Rooney, but comparing Rooney to Messi is just beyond joke. Rooney on his prime was extremely good, but don't compare him with Messi, Rooney himself will think it's ridiculous.
Calm down everyone. He’s pointing out what a positive effect high level athletes make on the team. The MLS has had only a few high level transfers so he’s short on examples. He’s NOT comparing Messi and Rooney; only the effect they have.

So did this Rooney change a team and win a trophy in less than 5 weeks to allow him to talk about others and in this case Messi. Otherwise, he should sweep in front of his own door before sweeping in front of others. In other words, shut up Rooney.
