  1. I've never had fun watching baseball in the USA. American fans are soooooo boring to be around. I did have fun in the Dominican Republic and Japan though. But, at the end of the day soccer is a beautiful sport and baseball is for fat people.

  2. it means soccers right name is football. also, portland had a minor league baseball team when the timbers were also minor league. the timbers sold out most of there games. the beavers had about 1000 of the 20000 seats sold out on a really good. day. i went to a game. it was boring. left half way through it. portland didnt give a rats ass about the beavers. thats why we got rid of them to make room for the mls timbers. which have sold out every home game so far and have the best fans in the mls.

  3. No one cares about baseball. Soccer is the greatest sport in the world while baseball is so boring that their fans feel the need to troll Soccer videos to feel good about themselves.

  4. Vaughn Street Park was Portland's baseball stadium until it was condemned in the 1950s and the Beavers moved to Multnomah Stadium. Before then Multnomah Stadium was used for American football, cricket, and dog racing.

  5. ah, I don't know why they do that, maybe it's because they use the term football, meaning the people that create the team, or maybe to appease Europeans, I really don't know

  6. We say Soccer for the same reason South Africa and most of East Asia say Soccer. Another Football code is more popular in the region. Even with that being said, there are still millions of people here that love the beautiful game!

  7. Why are we fighting over the name of a sport? Why are fighting if it's less passionate? No matter where or when, it is still the same sport. If you love it was much as me you'll understand it doesn't matter who plays it or where all it that it matters is the fire they have for the sport.

  8. i am german and i think that in the mls you guys from montreal have the best support more or less. why do you say that a stupid american team has has fantastic support. i don't know how you guys call the sport in canada but in the usa they all say soccer for some reason. you guys are a bit better than these americans. what political point of view do montreal fans have? because i saw a star in one video, in germany this means that you are left!

  9. where is the american touch? way to europen and south american but only not as loud and not as passionate. if anybody thinks that this is good atmosphere then it is true when people say that the usa is so far behind the rest of the world when it comes to FOOTBALL! why do americans say soccer?

  10. @johnycena000 marketing. good marketing equals lots of new customers. the people of portland were sold a product, and they bought it. at least until it's not seen as "hip" to attend matches.

  11. Don't be an idiot. They weren't chanting UCLA they were chanting P T … F C! No proud pacific northwesterner would chant for ANYTHING related to LA – please. Come on you Timbers! As our adopted team you must know, Alaska loves you.

  12. @grenouilledc First, let me say I'm happy for the excitement in Portland around their team. It's good for the league, and great for the derby between our teams. That said, you must be new to the scene if you think they outdrew MLS teams. The last 2 years, yes. Before that, no. They averaged just over 4k until about 2007. Then about 8-9k until 2009. Learn your histroy.

  13. Galaxy fan here but I have to say what a fantastic home opener. Timbers fans should be proud, as should the entire Rose City.

Timbers Army were loud, raucous and fun to watch. The singing of the National Anthem was not only an honor but a super awesome spectacle. Also, absolutely love the Tetris song (sadly not on this video.)

I'll definitely be rooting for them (except when they're playing the Blue, White and Gold of course!)
