The game had absolutely no meaning for the Germans, but it meant everything to Ecuador. Because FIFA changed the rules from goal difference to direct comparison for the group stage rankings Germany was already certain to be 1st in the group. Ecuador really needed the win. That was very visible yesterday
Gluckwunsch well done Ecuador they deserved to win and are a good team in a tough group if its Mexico in R32 will be a good game , Germany already through nothing to play for but should of played alot better must improve alot be at the best for R32 , last all star Deutschland team 2014 deserved to win the world cup .

Sheesh, this panel loves to speculate. They are reaching to find meaning and "implications". This was a practice run for Germany and must-win for Ecuador. Take that at face value.
The goal for Germany was a f… disgrace, this referee should not be let to participate in any of the future games of this tournament. Luckly it did not change the final result of the game. However after such a horrid compromitation of the referee as well as the VAR guys, none of them should be considered to work any further games. I dont get this… how is it even possible in the era of VAR that referees still cant make the right decision after seeing such an obvious foul in slow motion 10 times. And they take money for this?
