I think Liverpool seen united was in for him and decided to try snag him and it worked they don’t need him but they certainly flexed a lil muscle reputation wise but nether the less united will find the right player.
Gakpo is a very good talent. More liverpool type and with their injuries. Utd have enough left sided or wingers. Utd need a proper number 9 more than anything.
Gakpo is an outstanding talent and i would love him at united but even when we all thought he would be at united i still said do we need him though, we need a striker so it wouldnt of made sense
hes not an exclusive left winger, can play centrally in a 10/shadow striker role or even as a 9. hes more of an adaptable player then a specialist which united could definitely need with their lack of depth and rotation in the attacking areas i mean sanchos not playing, garnacho and elanga are youth prospects and ronaldos gone, its martial rashford and antony that are the only first team established players if there was a gakpo at united he could ill in for martial, rashford and even antony but probably not his favourite role. United SHOULD have him but liverpools actually a well run football club

Our front 3 right now is injury prone martial, out of form Antony, On fire Rashford, Elanga who is not ready, Garnacho who is very young, and Sancho is nowhere so we did
Well, I was saying for a while that we don't need him. Yes we should've gotten him when we got Anthony because he is cheaper and probably better, but as soon as we made the decision to choose Anthony over him, then we have no need to go and get him as well when we need a number 9
The only striker I can think of that United could feasibly buy who would improve them rather than simply adding depth would be Kane.
