Lyon vs Bayern Munich | Post Match Analysis and Highlights | UCL on CBS Sports

German giants Bayern Munich are through to the Champions League final following a 3-0 victory against the underdog Lyon on Wednesday. A first half double from Serge Gnabry and a late header from Robert Lewandowski was the difference in the game.

It was a game of missed chances for Lyon. Early they had two great opportunities to score. One came from Memphis Depay, whose solo run ended with a shot that hit the side netting of goal, and another that came from Karl Toko Ekambi, whose heroic run into the box ended flatly with a wasted shot on target.

A mere 58 seconds after the second missed opportunity β€” which, in a different universe, could have given the French side a 2-0 lead β€” Bayern got on the board with a beautiful howler from outside the box by former West Brom man Gnabry. He then followed that up a mere 15 minutes later with a poached goal off a rebounded save.

Lyon were able to get some domination on the ball in the second half, but the final 45 minutes was where the talent disparity truly showed with a lack of clinical finishing and useful passes to break through Bayern’s defense.

Bayern will now face Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final taking place on Sunday, Aug. 23. The Champions League final will be streaming on CBS All Access.

  1. Lewandowski is the best in the world πŸ˜‚πŸ˜ΉπŸ˜‚πŸ˜ΉπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜ΉπŸ˜‚πŸ˜ΉπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜ΉπŸ‡΅πŸ‡±πŸ‡΅πŸ‡±πŸ‡΅πŸ‡±πŸ‡΅πŸ‡±πŸ‡΅πŸ‡±πŸ‡΅πŸ‡±πŸ‡΅πŸ‡±πŸ‡΅πŸ‡±πŸ‡΅πŸ‡±πŸ‡΅πŸ‡±πŸ‡΅πŸ‡±πŸ‡΅πŸ‡±πŸ‡΅πŸ‡±πŸ‡΅πŸ‡±πŸ‡΅πŸ‡±πŸ‡΅πŸ‡±πŸ‡΅πŸ‡±πŸ‡΅πŸ‡±πŸ‡΅πŸ‡±πŸ‡΅πŸ‡±πŸ‡΅πŸ‡±πŸ‡΅πŸ‡±πŸ‡΅πŸ‡±πŸ‡΅πŸ‡±πŸ‡΅πŸ‡±πŸ‡΅πŸ‡±πŸ‡΅πŸ‡±πŸ‡΅πŸ‡±πŸ‡΅πŸ‡±πŸ‡΅πŸ‡±πŸ‡΅πŸ‡±

  2. If Lyon took full advantage of their opportunities they could’ve taken that semi final, but oh well unlucky. If PSG come with a similar tactic to what Lyon did offensively and I don’t know I can Paredes, Herrera, or Veratti, Di Maria whoever steals the ball and immediately pass it through to Neymar, Mbappe, Di Maria, Icardi whoever and they just there 1v1. Or I can also imagine Bayern also having someone like Gnabry thrust do what he does and who knows could go either way. So evenly matched god damn, very unpredictable. Exciting tho

  3. Lyon clearly came out prepared. However, they were not clinical. Bayern would still have won in the end but Lyon would have made the game very interesting.

  4. Lmfao they would do anything to deny the fact that he was an arsenal player and he still rep the shirt. Yes he went on loan to west brom from Arsenal because he needed game time after a knee injury , unde that raft of a manager, he didn’t play shit. Because he was hurt and couldn’t fit into their long ball tactics. Refused to resign with Arsenal because he wanted more games time . We all knew he would be great someday. We just arsenaled the situation.. however ex players please put some respect on my team’s name. Stopped watching @3:10 after that blatant bias so …

  5. Wasn't Gnabry like 20 years old when he was at West Brom? lol …they did go on to explain themselves, but what players are fully developed at 20?
