Imo they have bought a bunch of very good players but without a clear idea of how they could put them together in a team; they lack an overall balance and that makes every player do a worst job not necessarly because they aren't good enough but because they can't express theirselves in the best way due to the system.
Not having watched a ton of Liverpool this season, but losing TAA was bad for starters, Salah is playing more in the midfield this year and I don't know if that is by design but last year it was more draw them in and explode out for Diaz, Gakpo and Salah, let them get isolated 1 v 1 this attack looks like a completely different strategy this year.
