  1. Italia 90 for me.
Maradona, Van Basten, Gazza, Vialli, Lothar Matthaus, Schillachi, Roger Milla, Baggio, Caniggia, Gullit, Valderrama, Romario, Bebeto, Dunga….so many superstars in that WC.
Watching that as a kid started my love of football.
For me the best WC has to be Italia90.

  2. The 90s had the best sporting moments in history of sports.

South Africa winning the rugby World Cup at home

France winning the 98 World Cup

Sri Lanka winning the 96 World Cup against the odds and then the greatest ODI ever played between Australia and South Africa in 99 semis

Man United beating Bayern in the UCL final to lift the treble

Those are at the top of my head

  3. 2002, South Korea and Japan, was the best one I’ve witnessed (my first). You had golden goal back then, and as I grew up in South Africa I was watching South Africa draw 2-2 with Spain. You had the great German and Brazilian teams. The stadiums was amazing. Just a great World Cup and I’ve not watched a better one since. The 2010 in South Africa was actually a bit disappointing
