  1. NIgel is right, they are more dangerous and exciting with a firing Messi, but Scaloni definiitely experimented without Messi during the qualifiers whenever he was injured, and the biggest indicators were the March International window in 2025 where they beat Uruguay and Brazil the top teams at the time without Messi convincingly. Then the Copa America 2024 where Messi struggled with injury all tournament and they won.

  2. Mbappe will most likely go on to overtake Messi in the most goals scored in WC but we must not take away from Messi that he didn't always have a very strong team around him, for example 2014 and 2018 WC Argentina squad was not that great and Messi had to carry them but 2022 and 2026 WC squad is definitely more complete with good squad depth. Whereas Mbappe has always had a stacked French team since 2018 WC, I feel this is something people don't take into consideration when comparing most goals scored in WC. That's why I feel what Leo has done deserves more credit but at the same time Mbappe also deserves his flowers.

  3. I don’t understand where that stupid narrative of Argentina having an old squad came from… the average age is 28… also we demolished Brazil without Messi and won the copa America with a below average Messi… journalists are just stupid

  4. I am a huge messi fan – but can’t help but think goals are easier to come by with the extended 48 team line up. R9 , pele and maradona will be forgotten with the number of goals players will score on the next 5 world cups

  5. 39 years old and still stands out like a sore thumb. His game intelligence is lightyears ahead of anyone else.

He starts moves and finishes them. Anything good in Argentina comes through him. His 2nd goal is nothing but sheer desire to get there first and score.

  6. I think it should be pointed out that Nigel was right in what he said about Messi’s 12 goals after 35+. Everyone laughed at him and told him to listen better. Good analysis Nigel lad

  7. Ur commentator is missing a point. The team is focussing on Messi to win the Golden Boot so they concentrate on getting him the ball around the area to score. If he is injured or not playing then they'll focus on winning and getting the ball to the best person to score. Different way of thinking. Score as many in the group stage but play to win. After advancing it is not that important who scores just so that the team makes goals.

  8. Messi's 2nd goal be like:

"THEY'RE TRYING TO CONTAIN HIM… BUT IT'S AN IMPOSSIBLE TASK! THIS MAN IS JUST UNSTOPPABLE!" 🔥
5 FOR ARGENTINA, 5 FOR MESSI AND THEY ARE THRU TO THE THIRD GAME😂

  9. Argentina is a squad of 25 men playing for their national hero. Portugal is 25 men playing in spite of theirs. It's the same in any job, everyone would rather work for a humble guy who excels at his work than a douchebag clinging onto the past.
