No, is it that strange? I recall seeing a player trying to gain some seconds at the corner the flag, he was surrounded by 2 defenders and jumped through between them with the ball between his legs (kinda similar like this video). He then got fouled. The guys in the studio said it was because the player made the ball "unplayable"

I thought there were rules against this stuff. Because the ball isn't really playable when you hold it between your legs. (This also prevents people from holding the ball under their shirts for example)
