  1. I used to sign Landon Donovan on FIFA back in the day. I had Deco, Pavel Nedved and I played Landon Donovan up front with Henry. My Arsenal squad was fucking solid.

  2. My Dad is Mexican and everytime USA 🇺🇸 played Mexico 🇲🇽 in broken English my dad would say…. he is good player. I'd say who dad? He would say Ladonnn ese es un buen jugador es perro en la cancha juega con todo. When he played for Galaxy my dad said … al fin futbol esta en Los Angeles.

  3. Even though I’m English and prefer it too be called football instead of soccer I respect Landon Donovan a lot he was just such a good player with la galaxy and u.s.a so yeah I highly respect this man

  4. In 2002 a 10 year old 🇩🇪German Boy became the biggest Landon Donovan fan in Europe! My childhood hero! My idol! Thankyou for all the memorys! I supported every single second of his career. The bright times and the dark times! Waking up at nights to see him play, enjoying World Cup times.. But….I never saw him play in real… 😢

  5. Brian McBride, Claudio Reyna, John O’Brien, Clint Dempsey were American trailblazers going to Europe and getting it done!

LandyCakes was a coddled, overly privileged spoiled brat, who refused to compete at the highest levels, his actions hurt US soccer not helped!

  6. LandyCakes is overrated. He was afraid to challenge himself in Europe on a permanent basis. He was a big fish in a small pond. He wasn’t the best when he played…that would either go to Claudio Reyna or Brian McBride, both of whom challenged themselves in Europe and were successful. After this current group of USMNT mature and grow, people will look back on LandyCakes as a coward.

  7. I wish he would've played more of his career overseas, I think it would've made more of an impact for US soccer internationally. He was clearly talented enough that he could've been in the PL for the majority of his career.

  8. MLS is not old enough or popular enough to have legends. They are just out these days. Also all his goals look like straight from university football matches.

  9. He was never a "talented" dribbler, but he beat you with Pace, Vision, Accurate Passing/Shooting. Even later in his career when his pace dropped off a bit, his vision and accuracy was still top notch.
