If so many MLS players didn't take a dive on the slightest contact and over-react, you would be looking for a new gig, Andrew! Dives on marginal contact hurts the credibility of the sport.

I feel kinda crazy for saying this, but I don’t think the LA keeper deserved the red: Owusu is going away from goal, at the top right of the box, and Glesnes is racing back. Not dogso to me, however the keeper is going to be judged harshly for those challenges! If there’s any uncertainty, don’t go for those tackles on the edge!
@4:25 it looks like New England goalkeeper still has the ball in hand completely out of penalty box when he throws. Maybe not, but it seems it does happen by all goal keepers periodically and never gets called.
This year we upgraded to front row field seats. They're not cheap, but you do get a close-up view of MLS officiating.
I am more convinced than ever that MLS referees are selectively enforcing IFAB Law 12. The referees regularly ignore blatant jersey pulling, arm pulling, shoving, tripping, and even bear hugs around the waist, only to suddenly enforce Law 12 at a pivotal moment in the match. The reason this type of inconsistent officiating is so insidious is that the foul that eventually gets called is entirely legitimate based on the rulebook. This gives referees plausible deniability since they can point directly to the text. It's all the fouls that were ignored prior to that moment that raise questions in a league where millions are being wagered on sports betting.
IFAB Law 12 states: "…acts like holding, impeding with contact, spitting, or deliberate handling (outside the goalkeeper's permitted area) result in a direct free kick regardless of force."
Grabbing an arm, pulling a jersey, wrapping arms around the waist, or shoving an attacker from behind are all clear physical fouls.
Either consistently follow Law 12, or rewrite it.
If it sends the message that your chances of getting the call you DON'T want increase with every childish whine and desperate signal for VAR to get involved, I am 100% OK with that message being sent in a 4-nil game where it isn't gonna matter much. Better yet would be a yellow to players who revert to kindergarten tantrums when the call they expect is not immediately made, or blab incessantly at the referee while he awaits a decision, hoping to influence him if called to the monitor. Part of the reason VAR doesn't always work is because the players are gaming the system and not getting pushback for doing so.
Instant Replay missed the Outrage Of The Weekend: 80% humidity in Miami and the pink-clad clowns pulled their stupid little stunt yet again, letting TFC wilt in the liquid muck that passes for air in Nu Stadium for well over five minutes, dawdling for the cameras in their air-conditioned space and smiling because they know they can always get away with it, before they finally decided to walk back out onto the field like a bunch of grandmothers visiting the market. MLS needs to get control of this right away. I can’t understand why visiting teams don’t just give someone in the stands a cellphone and outwait them.

Second one is also a penalty. Unless they have sensors in the shin guards like the World Cup balls you don't know how it affects the player. He straight up kicks him in the shin, not even close to the ball. You kick someone in the shin it's a foul, you foul in the box it's a penalty.
First one is 100% penalty. Also, it's not shoulder to shoulder if the defender uses his shoulder from behind. He's a full step behind him at that point.
First one against Dallas is a horrendous miss I must say. VAR was sleeping and ready to get to halftime. Wouldn't have changed anything most likely so of course the league will gloss over it, but that truly is terrible for them to miss that.
that's a bad rule… DOGSO should always be both red & PK, anywhere on the field… any foul (in any sport) that makes a travesty of the game deserves the harshest penalty
