  1. He was probably right but it's hypocritical of Klinsman to call any card a joke when he took a dive to get Costacurta (of AC Milan) sent off for fouling him when he didn't even touch him.
    Typical diving cheating German.

  2. The red card was a joke, barely any harsh contact. They should appeal for the red card to be taken back so we can have Jones in the next game

  3. I agree this red card was overkill. But it's not the referees fault. This is how FIFA wants referees to interpret IFAB's decision on violent conduct. It was a strike to the face. Although it was trivial, it's the way FIFA interprets it. The players should know these decisions!!! What jones did was stupid and costly to his team. He also made that idiotic foul in the corner that gave Ecuador a set piece that was nearly a goal. His performance yesterday and for the tournament in general has been disappointing.

  4. It's a straight by the book red card, but what ref's theses days go straight by the book? You have to interpret these fouls as they pertain to the situation, there was no intent to hurt Arroyo, or else Jones would have swung harder and connected a punch, that should not even be a yellow if a smart referee makes that interpretation of the rules.

  5. well if any of you happened to watch the game on fox dr joe machnik the fifa match commissioner explained that there was a new rule that siad if a player without the ball uses his hands to make contact with their opponenta face its a straight red. and thats what jones did so leave the refs alone
