FA county coach developer, Julie Chipchase, delivers a coaching session with players aged 17-21 focusing on transition from defence to attack. In this session, the players will work on decision-making in moments of transition, principles of play: in possession and out of possession and attacking quickly when regaining possession.

Really ssd to see Julie has passed away after finding this clip, you have left an impression and a legacy
Poor intensity from players , im not sure what group are they but intensity is very low .
I would add a progression so that if a player scores, they join the other group to create an overload. This means that the attacking player has to scan and play quicker as a player can come up behind them to win the ball who is moving from their previous group
Great coaching. Poor bunch of players..
❤
Nice one
One of the best activities that I have seen on Youtube, Loved it. I took this and tailor made it for my team. What a powerful session
Great session plan
Lovely drill I might adapt it by setting up flat cones on the third so the defenders in transition have to quickly go around them and make a decision to stay or press as a unit
Firstly sad to hear about Julia.. RIP.
The boy with the red boots has the right attitude, intensity and competitiveness even in drills like this is crucial.
Awesome..
Julia was such a fantastic coach. Rest in peace.
love these drills, can you please attach diagrams of the drill in pdf for coaches to print off?
Ten minute high intensity sessions.
Nice practice. I would adapt this session by maximising touches to 3 and 1 touch finish. Or with more players would make it 3v2 and put players out wide
Nice practice. Like it. Would even use this with my U10 team to develop their urgency in transition
Great job Julie!
