I was there that day. Gosh darn could he kick it a mile, but yeah, not that straight all the time.
Part of the story missing… right after getting cut by the Jets, Meola signed with the Buffalo Blizzard an indoor soccer team in the NPSL (National Professional Soccer League). And in the PDL before singing with the MLS.
