  1. The ultimate irony is that the one thing that might clean up the dirtiest football program in the history of college football is NIL and revenue sharing. Parity has been achieved at last but just not the way the NCCA wanted. Everyone can play their players to play for them. The hundred dollar handshakes are gone, the hiring of a player's daddy to a $60,000 no show job or checkcards with a magic balances that never goes down are no longer needed to get top recruits.

  2. Cole does not know much about Auburn. All boosters at all schools don't give money away without having a view point. It is always about relationships. Cohen and the money guys were wanted Lane or Freeze. Auburn is in the top of 5 of looking for coaches this year. Interview Jason Caldwell.

  3. As a Bama fan I fully endorse Auburn hiring Marcus Freeman. 🤣 My other choice would be Brian Kelly. Tigers to Tigers make it easy for him. Might even get Kelly cheap since he has a big buyout in his pocket.

  4. How come nobody’s talking about Ryan Silverfield. He should be mentioned for one of these openings. Not saying Auburn it’s just nobody is showing him any respect. I think he’s had 3 – 10 win seasons now.

  5. Non Auburn fans will never understand that Auburn thinks less about Alabama than they do about Auburn.

I promise you Auburn does not base everything we do on beating Alabama. If we did, we would not have fired Gus

  6. Not so much as a search but a hunt for someone willing to go there LOL, search implies they have a choice of top guys, more like who can they get to say yes

  7. I think they both just described Jon Gruden. He's been doing in the NFL what most college coaches are just now learning. No more cookie cutter, next hot guy in a crappy league.

  8. DeBoer does not recruit the state of Alabama, he lost the state to Auburn. That will not last long-term. You have to win in the southeast when it comes to recruiting, that’s where the dogs are.

  9. If DJ Durkin were the DC at Ohio St, Oregon, Georgia, or Alabama he'd be the hottest candidate in the country. Why are we searching for a coach when we have the best fit as our coach right now?

  10. Auburn NOT elite.
They will never be elite. They just need to accept that. Hugh was about the best they could get. The next one will have to have from the youth football ranks.

  11. Damn, man. Can’t you for once cease and desist your nonsensical and slavishly worship of the SEC. Auburn a top 15 job? You are insane (or a lapdog). Historically and in the future you MIGHT give Auburn a top 30 coaching opportunity. Try:

    OSU
    ND
    Alabama
    UGA
    Oregon
    A&M
    LSU
    PSU
    UF
    Tennessee
    Texas
    USC
    Washington
    Mississippi
    Iowa
    Wisconsin
    FSU
    Miami
    Mississippi
    Michigan
    And many others.

Auburn belongs in the conversation with South Carolina, Missouri, Illinois, Nebraska, Minnesota, Utah, BYU, UCF, Cincinnati, TTU, Baylor . . .

And no, Marcus Freeman is NOT taking a job 27 steps down to take the Auburn job.

    GET OFF YOUR KNEES!

  12. If Auburn has Jimbo Fisher on their top #3 list after the best (Current) team in the SEC paid him $75m to leave, we are truly stupid and deserve what we get.

  13. The answer is right in front of their face! Hire DJ, fix the blocking and let Derrick Nix run Kiffens offense if he wants, he knows it inside out and two high energy guys like them could do really well together! WDE!

  14. Does Eli Drinkwitz make the most sense? He has done great things at Missouri. Has less talent at Missouri. Willing to change and adjust. Has been at Auburn before. He would be expensive but the floor I think would be higher than 6-6 every year. With the potential to have a really great year in 2027 (Bama&uga at home).

  15. Problem with letting a coach develop in the SEC is they don’t get 8 cupcake games if your nil is big. If you’re waiting 3-5 years for a coach to develop he’s not making a bowl game in that time. So by the time he might have it figured out he’s got no program momentum and no donor support.
