Mourinho success at Spurs, Fenerbahce, Benfica & Roma is relative to the standards of those clubs.
Roma & Spurs are not league winning clubs and they do not have resources to do so. Taking Roma to back-to-back Europe finals and winning 1 is not a failure but a success for a mid table club.
Taking Spurs to a final & be fired before the game is played is unfair to blame Mourinho as a failure.
Coaching Fenerbahce is like coaching Dortmund and expecting them to win the league against Bayern(Galatasaray) and then finishing 2nd you classify it as failure. That's madness and unrealistic.
With Benfica, all what happened is just Mourinho joined the club already behind league leaders but he still managed to qualify for Europe.

Yet these pundits are already saying, “I’m not seeing that this team has changed.” Based on what? One match? That isn’t analysis; it’s just noise dressed up as expertise. And the irony is that the same people then make sweeping claims while getting basic facts wrong. The best example is the guy on the right confidently saying Mourinho never won La Liga, then shifting to the Champions League as if it were “one or the other.” Mourinho won the Champions League with Porto and Inter, clubs where doing so was anything but inevitable. When he arrived at Real Madrid, they had spent around a decade failing to get beyond the Champions League Round of 16. Under him, they reached the semifinals repeatedly, broke Barcelona’s dominance, won La Liga with a record points total, and built a squad and structure that later managers like Zidane and Ancelotti inherited and developed further. That doesn’t diminish those managers’ achievements. It simply means context matters, which is apparently the first thing these pundits forgot. What frustrates me most is that there is no real attempt to analyse football: no context, no process, no tactical reasoning, no patience. Just recycled talking points, exaggerated certainty and “content” for the sake of content. Replace them with almost anyone and you’d probably get the same thing.
It’s basically TikTok culture applied to punditry: less analysis, more trash talk. And honestly, that’s the depressing part. Football deserves better than people projecting opinions before there is even enough evidence to form one. Give the manager time, watch the team develop, examine what actually changes, and then judge. That is the bare minimum of common sense, never mind serious analysis.
