As I was growing up we played football with a 5 ,4,2,1 formation with 3 attackers, 2 winger's, 3 midfielders and 2 backs with a goalie over the years the formations have changed. Do you think this is for the better as the idea of football is to win games.

People actually don't know how good Rooney was, he scored his first epl goal on his debut coming off the bench against Arsenal at 16 and scored a banger he also scored a Hattrick on his man utd debut.

I always find the debates on players hilarious. They do it all the time Gerrard and Lampard and it's almost always Gerrard and yet people still debate it. If the top players who play with and against them pick Gerrard then I can see how it's even a debate.
I could listen to these two all day. Love that Gary mentioned Essien too, brilliant player but never gets a mention.
They really didn't talk enough about Bellingham when discussing great English prospects and strong mentality

Best young player from an English perspective is either Owen or Rooney. Owen won the balon dor at 19.
Carragher didn't start in prem until the second half of 1997/98 season. Gary the 1995/96 season. I would have thought Shearer, Bergkamp or Cantona would have got a mention but mainly before their time for the peak of those three.

How can they talk about Harry Kane being underrated for all the goals he scored and what he achieved and then pick gerrard over lampard?
Lampard has more goals, assists and trophies than gerrard in his career. The only thing gerrard has over lampard is he was the standout player on many poorer teams and he scored flashier goals. But lampard scored more than 10 goals a season most of his premier league career and contributed to league success whereas Gerrard slipped at the vital moment of his career.
After the slip you canβt say gerrard is the better player.
Surprised Gary didn't mention Bellamy as one of his underrated opponents. Mind you, there were probably many others.

As an Arsenal fan I of course remember Cesc, Anelka, Cole, Wilshere when they started as 16-18 years old. But I also remember Fowler as a teenager, he was amazing. Scored goals for fun.

Why is Carragher talking about himself like he was a world class player, controlling the team and talking about making trent better if he was in the centre back pairing? He has no right to talk about himself so highly. Mediocre at best!

Canβt believe (just talking football) Ryan Giggs wasnβt mentioned by Gary as one of the best young players in premiership. Was amazing from the age of 17 onwards even if his damaged his legacy from off the pitch issues was a great player. Am only guessing they were told not to mention his name.
Although they naturally have their bias I personally love hearing these two talk about the past. Both never standout players but played such big parts in such important and memorable games over such a long period. Both legends

What Carragher said is spot on. The reason why I understood how someone in low leagues in FM had the same dribbling ability as Messi but never reached Messi's level. Mental stats are everything especially at the top level.
