  1. I thought this was going to be ranking his best PL goals, I'm very intrigued to see that.
    Anyway, still a good watch.
Also, obviously Kanchelskis was fast but I still would've expected Cantona to name Giggs first when he was asked what fast teammates he had, especially in that era and certainly to be named instead or infront of Sharpe.
I recall the commentary with Giggs against I think WestHam at OldTrafford 1993/94 when talking about the defenders "It's like a Minnie trying to catch a Porsche".
Maybe because of the crap Giggs has done since. Even before that stuff was made public, sticking to football I used to say Giggs was overrated & never gets criticism where it's due and should’ve finished playing for ManUtd much earlier but you can't deny his speed in the 90's.

  2. Between the ages of 22 and 31, Cantona won seven top-flight league titles in just nine years. This includes his famous eight-month ban after kicking a Crystal Palace fan, which kept him out for much of 1995. Remarkably, after turning 22, Cantona almost won a league title in every season he actually played.

What makes this achievement even more remarkable is that he did it with three different clubs across two countries:

    • Marseille
    • Leeds United
    • Manchester United

What really sets this apart is that all three clubs were coming off long title droughts when Cantona joined them—he never joined an already dominant team:

    • Manchester United hadn’t won a league title in 26 years.
    • Leeds United hadn’t won in 18 years (and haven’t won since).
    • Marseille hadn’t won in 17 years (and have only won once since).

No other player—not Messi, not Ronaldo—has followed the ‘Cantona blueprint’:

    • Seven top-flight titles in nine years.
    • Titles won in two countries with three clubs.
    • All clubs were enduring long title droughts.
    • He never joined an already dominant team—he transformed struggling clubs into champions. Talisman 👑

  3. The man who made that No 7 special and meaning to it as its not some shirt to be wear by anyone unlike now. Well back then when we used to get players with real character , the collar, the number, the personality what a man.

  4. Eric the king cantona, always my favorite goal of his is when he made a little chip to the ball and put it in the corner of that goal, that goal was incredible. My forever idol of Manchester United.👹

  5. The Genius and most humble guy, he agreed that his tackling was not great and recommended the most crucial part. I.e the mentality. Damn, he's too good.

The best is "Assist is considered as a gift and he loves to present it and to receive it too"
    Eric Cantona.

Love n Respect. One of the most influential people in the history of Football.

  6. A very important figure for the young players of Class of 92.
Could he have won the treble if didn't retire then? United wouldn't have gone and get Sheringham and Yorke if he was still around.
But he did inspire those kids to establish themselves in the first team.
The current crop of youngsters coming into the first team looking for an inspirational figure found none.

  7. that point on mentality would be pretty cool to see in the game.

e.g. a player with weak mentality would get a 15% decrease in stats when their team goes 2-0 down, and vice versa for a player with strong mentality.
