It’s clear that being out of the US gives it that energy. I’m the US they care more of that handball nfl and baseball, which is why mls will never carry that weight like other leagues.
As a Canadian it's definitely a different feeling when it's only our anthem. There is history in this rivalry, lots of bad blood and literal blood across centuries. That being said at the end of the day we are brought together as Canadians since nothing can unite the anglophones and francophones like showing the Americans.
