It’s not hatred … it’s Montreal vs. Toronto

Five hundred kilometers and centuries of cultural difference separate these two Canadian cities. The one thing they share — a deep disdain for each other — extends to the football pitch. The Canadian Classique resumes Saturday, August 24 at BMO Field in Toronto (7:30pm on TSN and TVA Sports in Canada).

  1. It’s clear that being out of the US gives it that energy. I’m the US they care more of that handball nfl and baseball, which is why mls will never carry that weight like other leagues.

  2. As a Canadian it's definitely a different feeling when it's only our anthem. There is history in this rivalry, lots of bad blood and literal blood across centuries. That being said at the end of the day we are brought together as Canadians since nothing can unite the anglophones and francophones like showing the Americans.

  3. If only the rest of the mls could have good derby’s like this. Only other is portland v Seattle v Vancouver all in the same region yet different lifestyles etc it would be great

  4. Every Time im going to live that rivalry live i watch this vidéo and cut it at 7:56 the rest is too hard to watch specialy the enormous amount of extra time that was given by the ref to allow Toronto to tie on aggregate
Always been the french vs America Wont change anytime soon see the Stanley cup finals how Bettman rigged and bought the refs for market and marketing reasons
